View Full Version : Being Thankful.

I have recently been swamped with a lot of work and crap in general, that I am complaining more an more to the point where my friends don't wanna hang out with me, my girlfriend does'nt wanna be around me, and my parents are threatening to ground me. I have taken the time to compile a list of things I am thankful for and reasons why. I am posting them in the TAO forum in hope that this will help at least one of you, and teach you there are small things in life that you should be thankful for.

I am Thankful:

For my girlfriend, who says she just wants to cook hotdogs tonight instead of going out to eat;

Because she is home with me, and not someone else.

For my little sister, who is complaining about doing the dishes;

Because it means she is at home, and not on the streets.

For the taxes I pay;

Because it means I am employed.

For the mess to clean after the party;

Because it means I have been surrounded by friends.

For the clothes that fit a 'lil too snug;

Because it means I have enough to eat.

For a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, and gutters that need fixing;

Because it means I have a home.

For all the complaining I hear about the Government;

Because it means we have the Freedom of Speech.

For the parking spot I find at the end of the parking lot;

Because it means I am capable of walking and have been blessed with transportation.

For the lady behind me in church who sings off-key;

Because it means I can hear.

For the pile of laundry and ironing;

Because it means I have clothes to wear.

For weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day;

Because it means I am capable of hard work.

For the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours;

Because it means I am alive.

For too much e-mail;

Because it means I have friends who are thinking of me.

For Wolfy's returning post;

Because it means there is still mercy in this world.

And finally, for the IM's that keep popping up while I'm trying to post this;

Because it means I have friends who are still thinking of me.

Good call seriously; but to be honest, everyone deserves the right to bitch... as long as its in moderation.

Granted, but I bitched for too long about stupid things.

I needed to get this off my chest.

Well what are you bitching about? Perhaps we can help rationalize or explain them.

Haha, I appreciate it, but I think I'm through with it, I just needed a slap or two in the face. (literally)

:blush2:

Mostly just things that seem important at the time, but you look back and laugh at later.

I felt the same way you did Kegs. except on a more "get over yourself" level. I put waaay too much time into TAO and not enough time into real life. And once I dropped it for a bit, Im pretty thankful for getting alot of time back. Gave me more time with friends and my girl. Great thread bro.

(It seemed like you were streching a bit there....) :wink2:
I generally get on Starcraft and join a "noobs only" game.
Pretty easy to get rid of frustration....

"Holy cow, what happened to my base!??!?!" :p

And remember, life isn't life without this. :)

Perhaps you should post this in the Starcraft thread?

:rolleyes:

You know, I'm not sure exactly, Volcom made the banner for me and I cut out part of it and turned it into an avvie. (Obviously)

I'll ask him when I get a chance though.

I think I'll reffer to this thread whenever I feel like complaining at untolerable rate. Good thread, kegs, very nice. :)
