Its simple really.
The option could be located on the "Edite Profile" section of user accounts.
It would say "Disable Reputation" then "Yes" and "No."
www.4thfactor.com <---their forums have this.
But I am talking about where the little boxes don't show up at all if you disable it.
And the people who are rep whores can keep their rep, and the noobs who are sad/mad because they get negged can turn off their reputation.
Please vote on the poll attached as well.
Thank you.

No poll...
I say that one account per IP address would be a better solution.

There is a poll.
Sometimes it just takes a while to load.
I wouldn't go as far as turning it off, I would rather implement RG's idea and restarting the rep system. So those that deserve it will have no problem getting it back up and those who can't won't be able to boost it up.

I still think if people don't like the rep system they should have a choice on wanting it or not.

Already been suggested, and turned down by Sergiy.
Also, it does not turn yours off for others, just disables you from seeing it.

What?
I looked in "recently been suggested" and didn't see it. :(

Rep is an addition to the forums, there really is no need to go on a rant, to make it go away.
I rep to give people messages, such as in negs
Your banners too big, please resize it -flip
or
Read the stickies ch00b! -flip
Or in a pos
Rightio! -flip
or
I like banana's -flip
Basically, you won't get rid of rep, because sergiy likes his rep too much!

Achilles made a thread about it. Sergiy made a visit, and clearly stated its going no where

and what would it do? rep whores would just turn it off when they new they were going to get negged and just turn it back on at their freedom

This has been suggested before. It's a good idea because, while rep can warn people of noobs, rep is a neucanse(sp?).

Good idea or not, Sergiy has already stated it will not be happening. This is not even speculation that it won;t happen, but confirmation directly from the admin responsable for the forums that it would not be happening. Specifically about THIS suggestion.

I say we pester the administration about this feature because they said it would never happen. The same way we tend to complain once they actually do something.
New rules suck :p

And there we have it. This is officially a spam suggestion if posted again.
