I'm thinking having a "Grey Army" option for Gold players would be really cool. It would enable Gold players to play against Gold players using their "Gold Army" and Grey players using their "Grey Army".
Some thoughts on implementation:
The Settings page would have two new buttons added to it. One would say Gold Army, the other would say Grey army. Selecting one would deselect the other. There would also be a "Use Grey Army" checkbox or button.
When the Gold Army button was selected, the user would be able to edit their Gold Army, using all the pieces available to them.
When the Grey Army button was selected, the user would be able to edit their Grey army (which would start out with the default army setup, minus any pieces that they didn't have to fill that out, or it could just start out blank). When setting up their grey army, a user would only have access to their pieces that are available to grey players.
When the "Use Grey Army" checkbox or button was deselected/unchecked, the user's Gold army would always be used. When the GUI element was selected/checked, the user's Gold army would be used against Gold players they faced, and the user's Grey Army would be used against Grey players they faced.
An ascii character that's unavailable to players when they're creating their name would be added to the front of a player's name to indicate that they had their Grey Army GUI element enabled (I'm thinking the smiley face, but any character would do).
Thoughts?
