stats and rank

Ok, you know how in college sportsyou can see the teams rank? My sugggestion is this.
When you "stat' someone, if they are ranked, you get to see what they are ranked.
I think it would be neat to see my rank beside my name when i stat myself.
Do you?

They aren't going to make a rank for every person on TAO, most likely. Especially for greys. The ranks would change so much every wipe.

Doing it for the top 100 players of each server would be nice, but it's not too hard to make a few clicks to check yourself.

The coding would probably be too much, if I'm thinking correctly.

Yes, I'm pretty sure that is what he is saying. I just don't know if he means the people in the top 100, or everyone, though.;)

This would be only for players ranked in the top 100. Otherwise, this idea is completely pointless.

Even then, the rankins are done outside the game, and are not part of the actual programimg of the game.

Jeffery made a good point, but I'd also like to clarify. You want in game rank, it seems, so you can see in real time where you stand compared to everyone else. The problem with this is there are a tremendous amount of people that play TAO. As such, compiling constant rank listings would be an unnecessary computational burden on the game. Too many people finishe their games at once and the lag would bring the game to a standstill.

TAO does ranking for top 100 only. It's done via a script that is run that pulls out the info. There is not a list of EvERY player and what rank they are available, even on Friday.
Your best bet if you want "every friday" rankins is to simply look at the rankings page, and plop the name between the nearest ratings oon the list. Then you have an almost accurate idea of about where a name will be on the list.

well i think if it were possible it wud be only people in top 100, and when you stats them you wud get there rank position at the time of rank update, like uni sed it doesnt get change every second :P
but i think its a good idea if it can be done, maybe even the rank of the clan they are in, either way its just a suggestion and can be built from...

That is handled outside the game via manually runnign a script.

Clan ranks are not even done BY TAO, let alone in game.

Either way can not happen without modifying the basics of all accounts to include what would basically be info for a very limited number of players.

Not worth the time and effort when someone can do it themselves if they have a 3rd grade math skill.
