INTRODUCTION
Hi. I am going to run a tourney which I am calling the "useful" units tourney. It is my first time running one so let me know what you think about the rules. I plan to get 16 people involved, but if interest is bigger than that I may extend the numbers. As of yet there is no prize for this tourney, but I may speak to the mods and see what happens. It is an unusual tourney, and the rules are listed below
Edit: There is now a prize and the tourney is TAL recognised. Please read below
TIME & PLACE
All games will be played on Rev. Once I have the roster made up I will give players 2 weeks to play their first round game.
METHOD OF ELIMINATION
Each player will be randomly picked to fight against another player. It will be the best of 3 games. The loser is eliminated, and the winner proceeds to the next round.
Edit- In the case of a draw, a fourth and deciding match will be played. And so on, etc if subsequent draws occur in that game
UNITS AND RESTRICTIONS
There are 2 setups which you may choose from. These are either the "useful" setup or the "default" setup. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE THE SAME SETUP IN ALL 3 GAMES. You may change which selection you want to use, however ONLY THE "USEFUL" SETUP IS ALLOWED TO MOVE THEIR PIECES AROUND IN SETTINGS TO CREATE THEIR OWN FORMATION.
Useful setup must consist of:
- 1 Barrier ward
- 1 Furgon
- 1 Frost golem
- 1 Cleric
- 1 Lightning ward
- 1 Stone Golem
And any 4 other pieces you want. Dragons can be selected but obviously count as 2 units. These units may be positioned any way you desire on the board
Edit - Grey drops can be used but not gold drops. Also only 1 cleric is allowed per player.
Default setup consists of:
The default grey setup, with all pieces in their default position.
Edit - A mirror image of the grey default setup is allowed as well. Please see the below post.
OTHER THINGS
Screenshots will need to be provided for all wins, as well as who played who and setups used by each. I would appreciate feedback from anyone with ideas and suggestions for the tourney. Please post your Rev account name and forum name in this thread if you are interested in participating. Also, I will be participating in this tourney, but results and draws will be completely transparent so please don't be concerned about that. Thanks
