... every tournament is plagued by people not showing up?

It's because they've become so COMMON that they've lost all their meaning.

It's not like it used to be. Nowadays, it's "Oh, I can't be bothered finishing this tournament, I'll go for another one that sounds more fun tomorrow". In the past, tournament were run every couple of months, and were really large affairs. If you missed out, that was it for you for a few months. Your chance at glory had gone. Now tournaments mean next to nothing.

Why am I posting this? Meh, I don't know. I guess I'm still in love with this place, and it breaks your heart to see your love fall so low. :dry:

I agree with you. Many people are not showing, thats the reason why I moved up in 1 tourney :p .

I agree with you 100% bottle. I'm done with trying to run a tourny, and I wont be going in any tournies other then the "big" ones like the tag team tourny.

In my opinion this is because the price is not worth the trouble for many ppl, so they dont bother showing up.

I have been talking with people, and I have been pondering hosting a tourn about every 3 months. People have been talling me Ive been doing quite well. And I enjoy it, as well. Makes me feel busy.

So, maybe If we cant have one tourney every 3 months (Ideally, I would agree would be best), we can have a really good one every 3 months. ;)

Snipe and I planned our tourney ahead for when no other tournies were planned, and then they popped up out of the grounds like little weeds :p

I agree, I enjoy participating in tournaments, but some people just don't have the time to participate in all of them and get their games in on time; if tournaments were big and far between, obviously it would cause less inactivity, but some people have the time to participate in a few at once..

I don't really mind people not showing up....givin' it's really annoying but w/e i'll take a damn bye if they are to lazy to get on. Of course i could probably play in 20 tournies at once because i can usually get on every nite after baseball practice. I really don't see how people can't get on sometimes I mean 45 minutes a nite wouldn't be to hard, then again i pretty much gave up TV for this game...so w/e. As soon as my 360 is fixed i'm sure i'll be one of those kids you start to see less often : { ) But I'll still get my games in don't worry bottle.

yeh, too many tournies, i think that before signups are over the mods should pic which ones will be included in the point system, and not pick all of them, so that people can join for ones that haea purpose. it would be a good way to regulate tournies...or just have noone join lots of them.

I'm going to be hosting the PSST starting in September so there won't be too many other tournies going on. Basically... DIBS!

And I agree with you Bots but I always finsih my tournies (except the Continents one because it died out but I played my games :bigsmile: )

By the way--Having more tourneys allows people to have more selection. For me, tournaments don't get old simply because I enjoy competing. That's why I loved clan wars too. It gave me a reason to try compete, and more tourneys mean more opportunities. I probably won't win one, but who cares? :)
