If you just leave a battle instead of clicking surrender, it should count as 3 losses.

I have a feeling that the server thinks considers any sort of leaving (discconnect, closing the window, ext.) as 'leaving the game'. People who lose their connection would also get those 3 losses as well.

Besides, what realy is the difference between a surrender and leaving the match besides a small extra message?

dakar's right, that's what happens when someone gets disconnected. Also note that not everyone knows how to work the surrender button, since you have to hold it down for a second instead of just clicking it.

Also, this would make the F5 trick (and its many, many counterparts) much more effective in screwing people.

So, where exactly is the upside to counterbalance this downside?

u tell your opponent that pressing F5 gives his units extra armor or anything like that but what it really does is refreshes the page and makes person automatically leave the game,

its a dishonest trick, u shouldnt use it
