I was playing this guy, almost flawlessing him and he took every turn down to the end of the time, maybe if you make the time shorter people will stop doing this...i still won

it is a good idea but.... If people have to get the phone or the door then they won have time do those and will lose. but it is still a good idea

That'd be good if n00bs are just playing around, but bad if a really contemplative player battles you.

Meh, I think the game time is good enough as it is.

If you don't want to play noobs that wait out the time, find a respectable player to face.

I hate stallers like that :( but this isn't neccesarily a good idea either =/ maybe someway for mods to be able to visit in the game "arena" and police the arenas, not just the lobbies

I don't think the turn time should be shortened because of that.

I do admit they are annoying as hell and that they deserve death by 1000 paper blades when they do that, but I see it as a test of one's patience and a confirmation that one has won the battle...and that one's opponent is bad sport.

and besides, when you face really good players, your turn often seems too short

think before you post, people get jumped, people make multiple accounts, people double screen, etc etc....i think stalling should just move up from frowned upon to kickworthy :p

I played an online chess game once (and got totally owned) where the time you used in your turn would go to the opponent's timer and it would keep track throughout the whole game. That would make TAO interesting, though there would be a severe lack of time to make your move in toward the end of the game in some cases.

Ex. Both players start with 2 minute turns

Player 1 takes thirty out of 120 seconds to make his first move
Player 2 takes only 15 seconds out of 150
player 1 takes 10 out of 105
player 2 takes 45 seconds out of 145

etc, etc.

ok well I could understand that someone arrogant enough to sign their initials at the end of their posts wouldn't be able to believe someone would be enough of a prat to do something like that

maybe you missread, problies i mis typed ut my argument is that no one wud do such a thing as stall on a new acct, they wud simply take the time they wud have spent stalling and used it to creat a new acct and have better luck.
