For those of you who do not know, Airsoft is a type of gun.

It shoots little plastic BB's instead of real bullets, so it doesn't really hurt much, it kind of just stings for a while.(it depends how much FPS it has)

So I was just wondering if any of you guys have an airsoft gun or play airsoft wars.

I am going to get an MP5 Electric soon, I already have a shotgun and a P99.

i haven't yet, but want to before the summer ends... i play paintball though. with airsoft, how do get "out" for lack of a better word? and do the bb's fly fast and hard? i've seen a few of them and they look like oversized plastic hollow bb's...

I'm more of a paintball kinda guy, but I have played Airsoft before. I don't own any Airsoft guns, but I used to play with my friends back in the day.

I think I'll stick with Paintball for now.

i also have a shotgun(pistol grip,sawed off stock) and the P99....im hopeing to get a sniper rifle next. P99 has 230fps and the shotgun has 280 fps.

Edit:and Boogie....airsoft guns can be very similar to really guns. Some have magizines to hold the bb's, which are pretty small in comparison to paintballs. They can fly at speed of 90 fps (feet per second) on up. It really doesn't hard that much to get hit with an airsoft bb unless it is traveling at about 400-450+ fps. If you want to see some pictures of airsoft guns or the bb's, you can search on almost any search engine or go to airsoft store websites like airsoftatlanta.com .

My friend recently got a pistol.
All chrome, 350fps. Its pretty sweet.

Unfortuneatly my other friend's automatic pistol broke, which sucks.

I never had a airsoft gun or tried playing yet. Although it does look fun considering that you can play with bairly any protection and dont need to be in a certain area. Right now i paintball though.

Airsoft is the next step beyond paintball.

The fact that the guns act more realistic, and can be used almost anywehre, makes them even more fun.

Also, I like using the paintball pellets for Airsoft to really get going.

Right now I have an Electric MP5 A4, Gas M9, Eletric M9. And I used to have more, like a G3 A3... But I sold it.

Airsoft is cool. People where I live arent in to it much. We mostly paintball. But I might start to play airsoft. It's ALOT cheaper than paintball, and it looks pretty fun.

my friends have told me to get an airsoft gun. Can someone tell me what the price of a decent gun would be. Something that would last more than a few months. I searched on google and yahoo and the sites either had guns ranging from 100-450 or 19.99-50. Obviously the more expensive would be better, but what do you guys recommend? I'm more interested in a sniper rifle.

What's the problem with BB guns? I have owned at least one BB gun my whole life and I love to shoot it. How exactly is airsoft preferable to/better than a BB gun? I am not familiar with airsoft and would really like to know. Jeffery probably has the $10 one that blows up in your face, friggin' cabbies.

bb gun shoots brass bbs that hurt like hell and can injure you quite nastily (i know a kid with two embedded in his face right below his eye, the docs are to afraid to remove it becasue they might sever his optic nerve) and bb guns can usually be distinguished fairly easily from a real gun

with most airsoft guns, there is no distinction if your not up close, except for the blaze orange tip mandated by federal law, possibility of injury is minimal and only applies to the facial area, a mask or safety glasses will do you fine (though your ears might regret it)

airsoft guns can be used to play around with others, play ctf or real life counterstrike if you want to (much like paintball, except i've heard more tactics can be used in AS matches, though i have never been apart of either)

currently i own a spring pistol, all metal, seems to shoot about 180-190 FPS, not bad, but not great either, but i don't care, its a nice starter, i'm thinking about getting a gas blowback next, but i have other concerns for my money at the moment

Wouldn't you want people to clearly see you are holding a BB gun and not a firearm if you are using it in public (and not representing that you possess a real gun)? I have taken a few mean shots from BB guns but that is part of the trill as long as you protect your eyes and face. I once got a lucky shot on my oldest brother and lodged a BB under his fingernail. Apparently, when the doctor pulled it out it hurt like hell.

It dosen't matter how you roll, as long as you fire non-lethal projectiles at your best friends.

Also, me and my friends have invented a new way to play airsoft. Its called "Speedball." What you do, is you have usually about 6 players, 2 teams, and 3 on each team. You play it in sort of a small area. We play it in my friend's fenced backyard. We have 3 barricades on each side of the backyard, so that people can hide from their opponent. The barricades are made of anything we can find - trash cans, old boards, tables etc.

You get hit, you're out, and so on until a team has all three players eliminated. Its called "Speedball" because it is a pretty fast game. We usually play about 2 or 3 rounds, then we pick new teams.

So if any of you guys are looking for something new to try in Airsoft, play some Speedball. :)

you do realize that what you just described is paintball, right? just with less players, your either playing speedball, ctf, or woodball no matter what you are using, paintball or airsoft (mix and match at your leisure) airsoft enthusiasts tend to do more woodball/ctf/CS type stuff, while most paintball places are speedball only
