Grey/Gold only floor

First off, I'd like to thank the TAO staff for putting so much effort into changing this game recently. Although I don't personally like every single change, it's nice to see you guys striving to improve things.

When I play TAO, there are many times when I want a grey vs grey game or a gold vs gold game. Unfortunately, I have found that many times I am jumped by a gold when I am on a grey account, and jumped by noob greys when on my gold. What I would suggest is one floor where only grey accounts could play and one floor where only golds could play. This would facilitate those who like me want a fair match. The challenge system somewhat helped solve this issue, but you can only challenge one gold at a time, and it sometimes takes quite a while to find a match. Additionally, Revelations really does help me find a gold vs gold match. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, many times when I log onto revelation nobody is on... Anyway thanks.

This has been suggested and is useless. Golds have rev and greys have 3 whole servers. Why put in specialized floors?

what purpose is there to give golds more space for them to play just each other if they don't even use 5 floors all to themselves? If they won't play you in rev, they won't play you in some "special" floor. The problem is the players, not the available spaces.

Greys are trial accounts and not at liberty to get any special benefits or treatment. There is no incentive to setup "grey only" floors. TAO doesn't want you happy and content as a grey.

Maybe its just my love to dissagree with everyone, but I like the idea.

The reasons stated do make sense, such as golds have 5 floors on rev, and grays don't pay for any extras, but having one floor on the 3 other servers is giving golds more options, and I don't see how thats a bad thing. As for grays getting their own floor - alot of grays get frustrated and leave TAO because their getting jumped by golds, who have a huge advantage over them before they get to learn the game. Having them leave before learning the game means they won't be going gold and in turn won't help support TAO in the future.

Then again as much as I like the idea, I think there are alot of other more important ideas that might need to be concidered, and problems fixed, such as the annoying as hell 'shit' filter.

Fair enough criticism. The reason I think I might be able to get gold vs gold games on a non rev server is because people hang out more on these servers than on rev. Typically, if I sign on to GL and there's 9 golds in the lobby, there's likely to be 0 in Rev, depending on the hours. Additionally, I sneaked on with my grey today, and noticed that out of 22 golds online, 11 were playing greys, 9 were sitting in the lobby, and only 2 were playing eachother. Kind of reminds me of why I left ;)

That is a good idea, but as for set related floors, I don't think you can teach a computer what a turtle is...

Its clear there is going to be little/no catering to the grey accounts so anything geared directly towards that excludes gold accts probably will not happen, and rightly so - its free on grey.

However, the stat based floors are a great idea. Greys could participate in this if they had the stats. A floor for 1000-1300 and one of 1301+ or something might work. I know the golds that jump me when I'm on grey are usually 700-900ish and get promptly squashed; this would remove them hassling grey accounts who do not know the mechanics of gold play from the lower level jumpers. Also, it would allow golds a place put their unit on the board in open challenge without the hassle of a grey wasting your time or some lower level gold trying to stall a win or something.

I know floors 5 6 and 7 are usually little or no action; I don't think this designation would hinder anyone’s ability to set up a game regardless of their stat.

It's not exactly necessary but IMO its the only feasible partitioning of floors.
