What do you think? (New Tourny Idea)

Nothing is official on this post..i'm mostly just throwing around ideas for later..if the idea is accepted I'll go into great detail about the rules and shortly thereafter run the tournament.

I got a little tired of seeing the same setups run over and over in very slight variations so I thought this change might put a fun twist on the same.

The Tournament Style i'm proposing is called "Team Parfeit".

Simply put, here is what it is..it would be played exactly like a regular tag team tournament(created by Darrington Darque)..with one small change..among the three players, each unit may only be played twice.

For instance..only two players may use a cleric, or one player may use two if he desires :P..same with scouts, knights, DSMs, etc.

There are 19 unique units, that makes 38 unit choices to be placed in 30 unit slots. (My math may be wrong somehow with the DT lol)

Anyways, this post was obviously thrown together in two seconds..again its just to get a rough idea if people would be interested in playing such a tournament.

This is great Darque. The teamwork and planning alone would be extremely fun. (No dude you can't use that set, it has a scout, Beast, AND a mud in it!)

Good idea Darque, I like it. The rounds would involve much more strategy and teamwork than they currently do. Teams would need to plan out which players would be using each unit. Players would then have to build setups with unit restrictions and requirements most likely using units that they are not necessarily used to. In addition, this would make for all different styles of play being used because if you have to use a stone golem and a furgon you would turtle or if you have to use a dragonspeaker mage and a pyromancer you would bomb.

Another idea I have been meaning to throw out there is a 4 or 5 man tag team tournament. It seams that all of the tag team tournaments so far have been 3 man. I think it would be fun to change up the number of players per team.

Yeah that 4 or 5 man tag would be fun also. Well I think I got enough positive feedback that its safe to say I can write out the rules and when the current tournaments run down we can eventually take sign ups and such. It'd be nice if there were some kind of prize other than just the satisfaction of winning. I really wish I'd be able to get it into the TAL but just don't see that happening..anyhow..it will eventually be happening. Thanks again for the responses.

Its a cool idea. I see your jus tryn to get all tao units used in an actual tourney.

But..how about just making a simple rule...that your team..as a whole. Has to have used every tao unit at least 1 time...maybe twice but not sure how that will add up...im playn a game and jus want to get this post out here.

This would be very weird. I think it wouldn't so much come down to skill as much as it would be the team that practiced to get good sets more then the others that would win. I would definately join this though. Very different, could be loads of fun.

Loading up your first two groups wouldn't be such a bad idea..then hope they dont get to the last player :P..just an idea.

Anyhow, I'll start writing up the tournament rules and take sign ups soon enough..I suspect that this doesn't have a shot of being in the TAL although I would be thrilled if it could. Anyhow...soon. Thanks for the imput.

Different idea.

2 people, each can divide the units in 2, and are only able to use those units.
They carry on in a round robin....

In event of a tie, one player represents each team WITH THE SAME UNITS!

There are special considerations given, this would likely divide the points up among the team. So say we gave x ammount of points to second place; each member would recieve x/3 points.

It's always a possibility.

This is a great idea, Darque. Suprised it was never thought of before, I would definately clear some time to participate in this.

Side Note: Renegade, your sig is huge, might want to take something out.
