I thought of an idea lately, and I thought it was pretty good so I figured out every little detail and I've come up with this.

I need to make this clear to you, listen, listen close, because the following is quite confusing, very long so pay close attention.

Also, I know there are many tournaments going on now, so this tournament will officially start May 13th 2006, I will make a post mentioning that it's coming soon, and then I will turn that into the official tournament thread.

16 people will participate, the first person to sign up's team name will be Chain 1, the second sign up Chain 2 and so on. However every chain starts as one person, and can grow as large as 8 people. You will start as leader of your own chain, and if you defeat another chain, everyone in that chain is part of your chain, and you lead that chain. Leading means two things.
1. There is a board that everyone is set at with 32 squares. Chain's will be randomly set on every other square so on the first move of all, no one can attack another chain. The leaders however choose where their chain moves. They can talk it over with their team but always has final call.
2. They can scarmlbe before every turn. Here's an example:

Every chain can have a max of 8 people, so say Chain 1 has 3

Chain 1
1. Leader: Blank 1
2. Blank 2
3. Blank 3

If the leader desides to scramlbe he can make it this:

1. Leader: Blank 3
2. Blank 1
3. Blank 2

The leader can make other people leaders, as well as keeping himself a leader. You don't have to scramble, ever.

In case I didn't already say this, if say Chain 5 is playing Chain 12, and Chain 5 wins, Chain 12 is no longer on the board, and Chain 5 stays where it was when it was challenged, or challenged Chain 12.

To challenge someone, you must move on the same square as them, it's as simple as that.

What do the numbers mean? Well if you have 8 people in your chain and you beat another chain they are part of your chain and they HAVE to be in it. Say you beat a chain with 3 people, they get put as the last 3, and the old last 3 are knicked out, IF there are 8 people in thtat chain to begin with, if there were 6, then only #8 would be knocked out, and sadly out of the entire tournament.

Well, you may be wondering now who's gonna chose the setups? Well the challengers do, the chain that moved to attack the other chain will have the chance. The way you decide who plays who, is when a chain is about to play another chain, every player in each chain will PM me a number one through the number of the smaller chain.
(confused yet?)
So then the person playing on the attacking team, choses from freestyle, or turtle (Alpha Rules) (http://www.tacticsarena.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22447&highlight=alpha+rules)

When there are only two chains left on the board, they automatically play number vs. number. Say the last 2 chains have 5 people and 3 people, then the bottom 2 people will not play. The chain with less players will choose the type of setup. Then when there is only 1 chain left, they play a tournament amogst themselves, the leader would be the first to get a bye if there is any. If there are 6 people in the tournament 1 plays 6, 2 plays 5, and so on.

The Following is and Idea of How the Tournament will be set up.

Timing: Everyone gets 2 days to make a move, if they are in a game after that move, they get an inital 3 days to give me the numbers, and play your matches with a screenshot to prove your win. Once you move, you must wait for everyone else to move before you can make your next one.

Unit restriciotns: GA and DSM, period.

And this is why you shouldn't run a tourney. You don't even know how to tell us about it, I doubt it will run very smoothly. I have no f*cking clue what you are trying to say in that post, mainly because I could care less.

Don't even try to get this thing off the ground, please. Go join a tourney or something, this just isn't your thing.

It may make sense in your head, TDK, but it makes no sense. If I were you, I'd try explaining it by using an example matchup. Explain the general rules and go through the example simultaneously.

So if I were explaining a tag team tourney, I might say:

Imagine you have a team of Monkus, Bludhoundz, and Uniquinous, and a team of HatchetKlown, Lonelytylenol, and Max; pretend their respective orders were as written.
First, the first two players on each team play. So, in the example above, Monkus would play HatchetKlown.
The winner's units carry over and (s)he plays the next opposing player with those. So, if HatchetKlown beat monkus and had a knight and a scout left over, Hatchet would play Bludhoundz with only a knight and a scout.
The process continues until one team has won. So, if Blud beat Hatchet with 10 units left, Blud would play Lonelytylenol with those exact 10 units. Formations can change but you cannot choose different units between games.

Try doing that. You can use us mods as example players to avoid offending anyone.
