Upper lefthand corner when scrolling over some of my units, i have green font that says:
"Blocking -5" or "Blocking +8"
What is this? Did they change the blocking system? It used to be percentage based depending upon which direction the unit faced when you hit it?

the more you hit something the beter chance it hs of blocking next time and vice versa, they changed it about a month back?

Really? So... if my knight gets smacked... he has a GREATER than 80% chance of blocking from the front next round? And how do I calculate this? What exactly do the numbers mean?

I got in about 3 games with the new blocking system before I was banned lol, so you might wanna ask someone else about how to master the new system :p

No. Its 4%.
So thats why the knight goes from -120 to -108

10% drop each turn. The percentages are calculated through some complex mathematics. I find its easier to note the +- on the unit, and have a decent guess whether or not you're gonna hit >.< Still, luck plays a role - I for one have been blocked on a couple 99% chance to hits.

You all are wrong :)
The drop goes down depending on the unit. That is why so many people have said different percentages.
The new blocking system still tells you the percentage of how likely you are to hit it. If a knight blocks a side shot you are 100% certain to hit it from the front. All you have to do is look at the percentage is shows and then remember how likely you were to hit the particular unit originally and then work out whether it is worth taking the shot or not.
If you have a unit on +50 then even a side shot is very likely to miss on any unit. Going behind the unit is still a guaranteed hit as it always was.
The new system is a lot more effective and also a lot easier to calculate your percentage of a shot.
Therefore my point is: ROCK ON!!
EDIT: Welcome back Villhelm, long time no see.

Can you make this easier flowing? I'm very anxious to see exactly how this new blocking works... gauranteed hits from the front if a knight blocks a side hit? I cant find too much info about the new blocking system... atleast nothing giving me enough details to accuratly do more than "guess" with the system.

This new blocking system is not set on luck now as it was before and you can calculate the likelyhood of being able to hit the unit you are going after.
The + blocking basically mean that it is more likely to block than be hit. The higher the + number the better chance it has of blocking. Now, every time you hit the unit the + blocking numbers go up. The difference of the number going up depends on the unit. So, with a witch because the original blocking is so low (20% at front and 10% at sides) you need a very high number for it to be a certain block (0% chance of hitting it). This number would have to be around +80 for that kind of thing. Now, with a knight. There was very high blocking rate originally (80% front and 40% sides) therefore all you have to do is have the number up to +25-30 and it also a guaranteed miss. The blocking is no longer biased and based on luck with the chances of blocking as it was before. The thing you have to understand is the different numbers of + blocking on each unit and its orginal blocking and then you can work out whether its worth taking the shot. If you cannot hit the unit you are going for, then try for some other units as the + blocking will gradually drop down. The number difference of it dropping depends on the different units.
Now, with the - blocking. This is the complete opposite of the + blocking. Everytime the unit blocks the number will go to eg. -20 and it will drop down dramatically if that unit blocks again. Now, with a knight it has to be around -108 to have a 100% chance of hitting it. This can be either hit from the front or from the side and its always 100%. You will notice where the original percentage showing the chances of hitting a unit was, it now tells you how much a chance you have of hitting this unit based on the green +/- blocking. If a unit is hit with a high - number then it will drop down back to neutral. It then carries on from there whether you have killed it or need to take more shots at it.
The units that have no armor eg. the golems and what-have-you are still always a 100% chance of hitting as always. I know thats pretty obvious but I thought I would point that out just in case some noobies don't know that.
Hope that explains it villhelm. :)

krome, the thing w/ that, howcome when you miss a knite from the front it sometimes gets -120 instead of -20 like it should acording to what you said?

You my friend are the reason I left in the first place. This used to be a fun game, full of people who actually HELPED the newcomers...
Ignorant interjections by adolescent idiots. Thats the name of the game now, apparently.
also, note that this thread is in the "Newbie Forum" where questions should be able to be asked without trolls attacking

You are so right wicked...
Makes me wonder why I am still here. Back between nov 03 and about jun 04 it used to be a good place to be. It changed completely since back in the day.
