Multiple Forum and Game accounts, Can't admins stop this?

This is just become too popular and in not in good way.. Krome with his thousands.. Dape with his two hundred and seven different accounts.. CD and Hulky back in the day with all theirs.. Apparently pieface was multiple people.. Wizzy poor wizzy even when he only posts on wizzy I think he is 6 different people. and of course there are others.

Seriously why do the admins allow people to carry multiple forum accounts.. Especially when they are known to be the sme person.. and admit it. You're required to have to have a unique email address and unique name to create a forum account so wouldn't it mean that it is frowned upon for someone to create mulitple accounts. Can't the mods/admins merge accounts of known posters who use multiple accounts into one account?? I mean just pm them and say.. "Pick a forum name. and that will be it."

I feel if multiple accounts on the forum are treated as okay.. they what kind of message is being sent about multiple gaming accounts.

That might be hard to do since alot of people use school computers which have the same ip. You could have 20 different actual people from one ip.

I'm not asking for a witch hunt to begin.. Yes I understand how ips work.. Resonable doubt and merging accounts of people who have openly admitted on both accounts.. or all accounts that they are the same person.. SHOULD be merged. And when it is questionsable.. it shoud be addressed.

You can think what you want though. ^_^ I've never actaully had over 6 forum accounts. . in the past couple years i've had thewiz, thewiz2, Wizzy`, -=Demontamer=-, and Quattro.(thewiz is banned, -=Demontamer=- is deleted, thewiz2 I don't know the password to.)

And btw, what about your 3trillion accounts?

I'm only presenting what is known and asking why it hasn't/isn't being dealt with. And I don't want perma bans...or bannings.. It's been brought up before, and each time comes down to the admins and mods deciding it is easier to just ignore it. Lord knows DOING something would be too much to expect.

The real problem is not even multiple accounts themselves, but people who make them to try and hide certain behavior. Too bad we can;t make the forums show "related" accounts in the persons whois page.

Tama, take "duckydoo" as an example. Obviously someones multi account, only comes out to spam and be an ass. The person deserves to have their main account banned. SAince this is the third or fourth time he's been a dumbass, it should be a long term ban.

Yea, I agree with that. But if for some reason someone just wants to have a second account and isn't doing anything wrong with it, I don't see a problem.

99.9% chance that the person making multiple accounts is someone I don't care about, or really pay attention too. So what's it matter if they make 5, 50, or even 100 accounts I don't pay attention too?

Those are always fun. For some good irony you could make 100 accounts each and have them all sign the petition.

But that, in my eyes anyway, is were the problems start. I don't want everyone to rally behind this, but I do want people who despise cheaters to think about this at least for a moment. If its okay to have multiple forum accounts.. chances are the same people have multiple in game accounts.. Allowing dbl accounts to exist almost promotes that, and chances are.. on them bored moments.. or just when I realized lost 50 points today.. or hell I'm on rev alone no one will ever know.. That same person will cheat..

Also a main concern of mine, I for one like knowing who I'm speaking to. I hate how many times in the past few months I've found out how many people were someone else. Just having fun at others expense. Yes I'm aware this is the internet and don't trust everything you read. But I'd like to think we could promote a more mature attitude. Be yourself.. or be gone.

Why couldn't we just have a personal field for "Online or Other screens names." Just like the Location field in UCP?

And on your "actually work comment".. Small little steps to continue to enforce a sense of morals. We all have had enough peaches and there seems to be no trouble closing a average of 3-5 threads a day.. Why not put the energy to removing a known problem instead of killing creative juices and random discussions. I know it would be work.. but these forums.. which I could spend hours on a post to rant on ways to improve or at least clean up a bit.. (including the icons which I think should be game related. another suggestion for another day).. I think could use some strong dedication to promoting these kinda of values.

I actually created it so I could get a fresh start. With it, I kept getting negged and such. I tried to reform, but got shunned. So I created a second on to start over.

well said. i have about 4 different forum account and about 6 game accounts. crap i want to go back as cbsurfinggod or fudo. but now i'm the bird and the bird is who i will be. like i said i'm not going to hind my self anymore. right now i'm using 2 different game accounts. the bird and mr.bird but they almost have the same name. maybe one day i will go back to being cbsurfinggod.

In all, I probably have about 5 accounts. One of them I made about 4 posts on, and don't remember the password to. The other ones I don't post on, so this is my main account. I don't really see having more than one account a problem though, unless the person with multiple accounts uses the extra account to be an ass about things.

Most people already know where I stand on this...I am totally against multiple accounts.

I think it would go a long way to ending some of the hostility and just general cleaning up of the forums. There seems to be alot of people who seem to use different forum accounts to post to be an asshole or a jerk or w/e.

Unfortunaltly several of the mods seem more interested in seeing that possibly good threads that are no real harm are closed...

What exactly do you mean, merge? like just the name and delete the other one, or with stats and all?
