hey guys i know some of you...... mostly ABronsonM thru the unit creation forum, but anyways could i join up with this clan? it seems really good and since its one of the first real clans to come out for TAO, it would be cool to be a part of it. I play on armageddon my record is 38:0:2 and one of the losses was a dissconnect. I just signed up for my gold so ill get that soon (yay!) anyways i could also help w/ the web site with scout, since i am also a webmaster! (and i like projects).

about the avatars (told you its been a while) since we're the Knights of the Round Table shouldn't we all have something circling a Knight avatar (personally to tell the truth I'm not sure if we want to bother if it weren't for the fact that i don't know half of our members... and i want to be able to reconize them in the forums)

That brings up the question: Is that shield image transparent or does it have a black background? Its ok if it does have a black background, just useful information.

To Al: Most any image edting software should do it: Photoshop, Fireworks, Freehand, even Flash. Even Paint will work fine.

well what i did was paste it onto my avatar with a whiteiss background, and then used the magic wand tool in photoshop to select and delete the background sections. this made it so the background is just whatever my avatar was, which happened to be black. i take it hashish can do graphics also so what might be easiest is if i send him a copy of the graphic and then everyone sends him or me their avatar and we can send it back with the shield logo on it. what do you think?

by the way custom avatars can be up to 70 x 70 pixels now, used to be just 50 x 50.

That might be the best way. I could also use Fireworks to strip the white and give a transparent gif on the website. Your way is better, it just requires more work for me :D

What ReNeGAdE did with his avatar is kind of what a couple of other peopl had suggested to do with the clan avatar idea. Maybe not te same design as ReNeGAdE has right now, but we could make another litle picture or sumthin to put on our current avatars.

I think it will look good when each clan has its own indvidual avatar or emblem on their avatar. It will be easier to recognize the different clans that post in the forums, and you will know which clan you are playing in the game too.

nice. out of interest did u just add it by copying it into every frame of the animation or did u do something else? im bad with animations, they are by weakness....... lol. btw if u want help with the web page for KOTR id be glad to help out. i noticed a couple things that could use changing. first, the logo seems to read - Kights Round of the. might wanna change that around. next is that the flash bar at the top of the page seems to go partialy into the menu bar. the bottoms of your g's etc are overlapping!

1. The reason why the logo was designed like that was to copy- wait, scratch that- parody TAO's logo, which is the reason the "of the" is there. I'm open to suggestions for logos, but I happen to like that logo (and its too hard/im too lazy to think up another logo)

2. It's all one peice as a flash animation, which is why they're overlapping, but the reason why the g's hang low is because I wanted the words to rest on the edge of the bar. Maybe i'll put some virtual black masking tape over their tails.

PS- I used flash, added a layer, put the shield in that layer, exported it to a gif format. Flash is my forte, so I try and use it as much as I can :p

If you have photoshop or paintshop you can use the magic wand tool to remove it. Or you can manually remove the black with the eraser in Paint, but I'm not sure if paint does transpererncy, so you might just have white instead of black if you do that. ok i edited the logo a bit, which was difficult....... because whatever you did by making it in flash made it so whenever i tried to cut something or copy something or resize something it would say something like - 'cannot complete command, layer is locked'. anyways i didnt go as far as I would have liekd cause i couldn't resize letters without making them blury and i didnt know what font you used, but i ended up doing what i did with copy and pasting from a screenshot of the picture :p, and then i use the brush tool to cover up what i didnt want.

Right that does flow better, doesn't it? it doesn't seem quite balanced though.

I don't know why you'd have so much trouble with the image. It was just an image, a bitmap. If you used Flash, you'd have to trace the bitmap before you could use it freely. By the way, the font was "armor-piercing", a mac font, so you wouldn't be able to get it I don't think.

An update report before I forget:

I've worked alot on the site. I finally got around to updating the ranking, and i used a verified equation from the forums to do it, so they are correct. If i missed you and you're on there, let me know. i also updated the homepage with new and exciting info =P, and updated the members page.

And soon, we'll have a new logo, so stay tuned. I'll have to replace it on the enter page and on the navbar, so it'll be a bit.

I have no idea what to do for a windows browser. You'd probably go to file and look for something that says "empty cache". Oh wait! I remember how to clear cookies! Somewhere up in the menus you'll find an option that says Internet Preferences. In one of the tabs it'll talk about cookies, and there should be some button sayig" clear cookies". I know that's a little vague,. but it's the best I can do =) good luck

In Hashish news: my stats are still not bad, but it doesn't seem such a bad thing. Since my stats so far are 20-0-1. a 20:1 ratio ain't too shabby.

OK, we're at war. Maybe we should coordinate a match or three.

A format I've used in the past in different games was a league-tourney format. A famous example is the ACC/Big Ten Challenge in NCAA College Basketball. 7 teams from one conference play against 7 teams from the other. The conference with the most victories is the winner, and gets the trophy.

We could do something similar with different clans. We'd have to coordinate players based on server and timezone, but it could be done. Maybe then we'd get a true indication of who the best clans are, and precisely how much KOTR owns. ^_^

As far as the war goes, everything seems fine to me. All current aliances and warring parties have hopefully been correctly identified. As for the "flaming", I agree to the fact that it should be toned down. I do however, as KOTR Propagandist, believe that some amount of spamming the enemies chats and frums should be not only allowed but called for. If I am correct, the Red Scare was nothing more than enemy propaganda winning ground with the Allies and instilling fear of the enemy. Each clan should designate an offical Propagandist to try to achieve this effect upon our enemies. As well as erase the effect they may have upon our allies. In closing I would just like to say, that all matters pretaning to the "Clan Wars" are never, nor should they ever be, civil. There are a few exceptions and this is where I believe that ALL clans should follow the Rules of War. I know the KOTR will follow its code of chivalry and I encourage all of our allies to do the same.

Somebodys gotta do the dirty work. Thats the best way I know how to say it. Someone somewhere is gotta be in the pits chewin on the other guy. If everyone in the clan follows the code stictly, then the clan is going to go under just like the real KOTRT did. Pride can be a big weakness. For those of us who dont give a shite about pride, we are the ones who meddle in the affairs of others. Now I am not saying that having a code of conduct is a bad thing. In fact it is nessecary. However, it shoudnt be the same for everyone. For those of you who are indeed prideful, your code can be a litle more stict than the code for we who dont give a shite. Never should it get so low that people are degrading other people, but a little taunting is always fun. *quotes Monty Python "Now go away, or we shall taunt you a second timeuh"*

I think 8 votes is OK, but I notice that it's only gotten 7 votes, which points up the difficulty of setting 8 votes to admin when we have 10 members actively checking into our forum.

I best way of recruiting new members is when you play someone that is decent and talks to you during the game that you invite them to apply and give them the address of the web page. I did this once yesterday. Don't know if they will do it, but I think it's a good approach. I don't think spamming the TAO forums would be a good idea.

I would just like to state some opinions:

1. I do believe that the KOTR is the best clan on TAO, but I would like to state that we, as a clan, do not have the most respect out of most clans. :( I think that this is in the process of getting better, but I would like to point out that the Clan Something Wicked (more about them later) probably has more regard because they have a quote "toned down" attitude towards recruiting, inter-clan wars, and other things.

2. I think that we have ALOT of members, and I doubt that most of them will stay active. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for having a powerful clan, but I think it is growing out of control.

~My Proposed Resolutions~

A. I think that we should stop recruiting, unless we see a very worthy potential member. I also believe that if we have Clan wars and alliances, that they be more.... formal .... Let's try to get the respectable KOTR attitude that the KOTRT themselves had. This isn't such a huge deal, but I still think it could help.

B. I don't neccesarilly (sp?) want to "eliminate" members, but I do think that we could maybe send out a small survey to the nonactive members saying that, in the sake of site maintanence and such, we would like to ask you if you plan to become an enthusiastic member of the KOTR, and if it was just a spur-o'-the-moment thing, would you like to relinquish your role as a listed member.....

These are just my suggestions. Do not let them make you think that I am in ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM dissatisfied with the KOTR. I still believe we are the best clan in TAO!

I can see why you would want to stop recruiting. So far we have obtained several members that dont do anything for the clan what so ever. They are just a member and thats it. I dont think that we should stop recruiting al together I just think that the process should be slowed down a little and we should start aqruireing a better quality member. People who actually participate in all this clan stuff and add to the respectability of the KOTR. Personally I dont think that the KOTR going slightly elitist is a bad thing. Or atleast being considered that.
