I've used FlamingText.com before, and it's useful, but a design tip don't use the flames, or at least not with that font, it kind of clips it funny.

im going totally harcore banner making again like I was when I played A3. Im getting all my old backgrounds and stuff and im gonna post them on a site and make banners upon request for everyone in KOTR. I will post the URL for the site once it is done. I will start by just including the backgrounds with nothing on them that people can choose from, but I will also make custom backgrounds if you explain what you want. You will notice a couple wierd one up there that were requests. Later I will post different font styles and stuff. I can add almost any picture you want on top of the backgrounds too, just tell me what you want the pic to be or give me a link to the exact pic you want!

Hashish: The image is part of something I found on the internet. I took that bit of it, and cut it up to use for a table, as well as changing the design so It worked better for what I wanted. Then I made the link bits and hr things myself.

Hashish for a banner I charged IN-GAME money. I could get between 15k and 30k credits for a banner, and up to 350k credits for an alien pic :>. If you've ever played A3 you know that pretty damn good to be making on top of your normal income!

yea A3 was an amazing game..... for a while..... but it got waaaaay too competitive, if you didnt play it 24/7 you sucked at it. Im acctually proud though, because through my ways of gaining respect I managed to make it into the very top clan in the game, just before i quit.... yea they added motivation and all that shit and the careers were cool but if you chose the wrong one you were screwed, and I chose the blacksmith one cause i thought making armour and weapons would be good. unfortunately i had to pay to get the ore to build the stuff (damn miners) and then the stupid game didnt put in any possible formulae for a long time.... oh well....

congrats kev! btw a3 is also knows as aaa and alienaa. it can be found at http://www.alienaa.com. its a text-based rpg type game where you 'adopt' an alien and raise it to fight and work for money. economy is a huge part of the game. there are enough people in the game that when the game resets at midnight every day, and all the dead aliens come alive again, everyone dies instantly except the top one or two players. its pretty shitty that way...

Hey, ReNeGaDe, I was looking over your site, here are things you might want to think about. You don't neccesarily have to use them, I just think you might find them useful from a design standpoint.

*Make sure you can get maximum visibility from your text. Though you may not think it, changing the shade a little dramatically improves the chances that person will read through what you have to say. White text is usually best for dark backgrounds and black for light backgrounds, but colored text is also useful if it both fits in with the design and colors of the rest of the page and is visible.

*Make sure that the font and styles of the font fit in with the rest of page, especially if there are prebuilt elements to the page. For example, unbold small sans-serif fonts are usually good for techincal-like pages, while bold chunky fonts are good for fun pages. Remember to use a simple, easy to read font for content. Bold and chunky s all well and good, but if you have two paragraphs of it, it becomes nigh unreadable. Also try and stay away from Arial and Times-New Roman, the two most trite and overused fonts. They automatically make your page look slightly unproffesional.

*Break your content into reasonable chunks. Seperate the different subjects into respective paragraphs. If its broken up, the reader is more likely to read the whole thing as he traverses from blurb to blurb.

*Prioritize your information. Use headings and indentations. Make sure differences in importance are clearly visible. An e-mail address at the bottom, for example, is less important than the main body of text, so make it smaller. If all text is the same size, that reduces visiblity and proffessionality of the page, and makes it less likely the reader will stay to read the rest of the page.

Maybe a Tutorial section to let people tap into your vast stores of knowledge. You could do them on the programs you use, or design rules you keep in mind while designing your banners. You know, tips to improve the minds of wannabe banner-makers.

Secondly: An update on the website. Being stuck in a practically Amish home is really quite horrible for a geek like me, but I did bring my laptop and it does bring me lots of free time. The site is well on its way to completion. The navbar, enter image, homepage, rankboard, and member board are all complete, leaving the chat, gallery, and enter pages left to do. I can guarentee you that you'll like this one better than the first (unless you're an asshole :p), and you'll have your belated Christmas present from me on January 1st, 2004. Cya for tonight.

ok ill give you some of the textures I have pretty soon, just got some stuff to do first. The font on intenses banner is called 'Adolescence' (spelling may be wrong) and i dunno where i got it my dad probably downloaded it at some point, but im on a diff comp for a couple weeks so no access to that font :(.

We were kicking around ideas in chat a few days ago, and I think this might work: We appoint a "Battallion Commander" (or other suitably important-sounding title) for each server. That person registers the clan on their server and serves as leader on that server.

As for registration, I'd say a simple Knights of the Round would be effective.
