The Knights of the Round Constitution

We the Members of the Knights of the Round, in order to form a more perfect clan, establish order, insure stability, provide for the common defense against other clans, promote the general well being of its Members, and secure the liberty to enjoy ourselves on TAO and in our forums, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the Knights of the Round.


Article 1. LEADERSHIP
The clan shall establish the following titles, rank and voting power for the leadership of the clan.

Section 1. Senior Leaders
The top rank of leadership shall consist of three members called the Senior Leaders. Each Senior Leader will be entitled to three (3) votes on any and all matters that are brought to a vote.

Section 2. Co-Leaders
The second rank of leadership shall consist of five members called the Co-Leaders. Each Co-Leader will be entitled to two (2) votes on any and all matters that are brought to a vote.

Section 3. Senior Recruiters
The third rank of leadership shall consist of six members called the Senior Recruiters. Each Senior Recruiter will be entitled to one (1) vote on any and all matters that are brought to a vote.

Section 4. Recruiters
The fourth rank of leadership shall consist of five members called the Recruiters. Each Recruiter shall not be entitled to a vote on any and all matters that are brought to a vote.


Article 2. DUTIES/POWERS/RESPONSIBILITIES
The leaders shall have the following duties, powers and responsibilities.

Section 1. Senior Leaders
a. The Senior Leaders are generally responsible for the overall management of the clan. This includes, but is not limited to, securing a gold unit that can hold the leadership title and share its password with the Senior Leaders; responsible to be on as much as possible so inviting/expelling duties can take place; arranging meetings/posting threads as required to fulfill the needs of the clan; establishing a “leader only” voting thread where actual discussion and voting takes place amongst the voting leaders; and generally being available to help clan members out when possible.

b. The Senior Leaders have the power to call the voting leaders together (posting thread with voting deadline) on any matter; scheduling regular voting times for any matters that need voted on that shall occur at least twice monthly; to invite a clan member to be a Recruiter upon reaching consensus among the Senior Leaders; and to cover any and all other matters that need attention that are not specifically stated elsewhere in this Constitution.

c. The Senior Leaders shall appoint a “Secretary” who must be a voting leader either for a set amount of time or for each meeting whose duty shall be to post in the “clan only forums” to summarize the results of any matters or votes that were discussed.

d. The Senior Leaders shall appoint a Recruiter or a non-leader clan member that has been elected in a poll by only non-leader members to be the “Scribe” for the clan members to manage the clan discussion thread for possible matters that will be submitted to the voting leaders for vote. The Scribe shall submit all matters by the required notice periods as established by the Senior Leaders.

e. The Senior Leaders shall appoint one of themselves to represent the clan on any outside business or where a single leader is required. This will be determined by the Senior Leaders only.

f. The Senior Leaders are required to maintain the KoTR website or assign clan members to carry out those duties.

g. The Senior Leaders are required to update the clan rankings weekly or by assigning this duty to another clan member.


Section 2. Co-Leaders
The Co-Leaders are required to attend to any vote called by the Senior Leaders; to help out with management of the clan either voluntarily or by request from the Senior Leaders; to organize, or assign someone to organize, clan tournaments or training sessions when applicable; to help with recruiting or interviewing potential new members, and to make themselves available to try out potential new members when necessary.

Section 3. Senior Recruiters
The Senior Recruiters are required to attend to any vote called by the Senior Leaders; to carry out other duties requested by the Senior Leaders or Co-Leaders; and to actively try to recruit new members and guide them through the clan’s then existing approval process.

Section 4. Recruiters
The Recruiters shall carry out other duties requested by the other leaders; and actively try to recruit new members and guide them through the clan’s then existing approval process.


Article 3. VOTING REQUIREMENTS
The following voting requirements are necessary to approve any matter requiring a vote.

Section 1. Major Issue
Any matter that falls in this category is required to achieve 19 votes or more of the 25 available votes to pass. These matters include: clan mergers; declaring war; any amendment to this Constitution; promote Co-Leader to Senior Leader upon a vacancy; or any other matter deemed a Major Issue by the Senior Leaders.

Section 2. Minor Issue
Any matter that falls in this category is required to achieve 16 votes or more of the 25 available votes to pass. These matters include: promote Senior Recruiters or Recruiters to next rank upon a vacancy; invite new Recruiters; changes to the structure of the clan forums; expulsion of a clan member or any other matter deemed a Minor Issue by the Senior Leaders.

Article 4. MEETINGS/ISSUES BOARDS
The Senior Leaders shall organize voting times on any issues to be held on a regular schedule but at least twice monthly. It is intended that issues would be posted on the leader only thread for discussion in advance of a vote. Ideas can be derived from the leaders and must include the ideas brought to the leader by the other clan members via the clan idea thread that is administered by the Scribe. Voting will take place on the leader only thread with reasonable notice to voting leaders.

Article 5. REMOVAL OF LEADERS/DEMOTIONS

Section 1. Removal of Voting Leaders
In the event that a leader is requested to be removed or demoted a level in rank by at least two other leaders, the following amount of votes is required to make the removal effective: Senior Leaders – 16 of 22 votes; Co-Leaders – 15 of 23 votes; and Senior Recruiters – 13 of 24. The difference in total votes is the subtraction of the leader being voted on as this person is not allowed to vote.

Section 2. Removal of Recruiters
A Recruiter can be removed by unanimous consent of the Senior Leaders or, if they cannot agree, by 13 of 25 votes.

Section 3. Automatic Demotions
Any voting leader will be automatically demoted one level in rank upon not voting in two consecutive voting sessions. A voting leader can get three excused absences per calendar year if they pm the Senior Leaders in advance of the vote.

Section 4. Automatic Expulsions
a. Any clan member can be automatically expelled for excessive spamming by any Senior Leader and that member would then have to be re-voted on to gain admission according to the then outstanding admission guidelines.

b. Any clan member can be automatically expelled for excessive cheating by any Senior Leader and that member would then have to be re-voted on to gain admission according to the then outstanding admission guidelines.

c. Any clan member can be automatically expelled for excessive slandering of another KoTR member or of the clan itself by any Senior Leader and that member would then have to be re-voted on to gain admission according to the then outstanding admission guidelines.

d. Any clan member can be automatically expelled for espionage by any Senior Leader and that member would not be able to be re-voted on to gain admission according to the then outstanding admission guidelines.

e. Any clan member can be automatically expelled for excessive use of profanity by any Senior Leader and that member would then have to be re-voted on to gain admission according to the then outstanding admission guidelines.


Article 6. ESTABLISHMENT OF INITIAL LEADERS
The initial clan members to hold title to any leader position shall be derived the following way.

Section 1. Appointment of Senior Leaders
a. The three initial Senior Leaders will be voted upon by the membership of the clan in three structured polling threads. The three threads being: your first choice for Senior Leader; your second choice for Senior Leader; and your third choice for Senior Leader. The clan member with the most votes in each poll shall be appointed to the Senior Leader positions.

b. The voting threads must be posted and remain open for at least three full days before being closed to give members a chance to vote. Members MUST also post a reply in the thread to say which way they voted, not just click on the poll. Anyone who does not post a reply, that particular vote will not count.

c. To be nominated for the position of Senior Leader, you must have at least 5 months experience in Knights of the Round, one of its merged clans, or branch of KoTR, also you must have good relations/reputation in the KoTR forums, good relations/reputation in the actual game of TAO.

Section 2. Appointment of Other Leaders
a. The appointment of the initial Co-Leaders, Senior recruiters and Recruiters shall be done by the newly voted on Senior Leaders.

b. There will be a separate clan only thread established to allow all clan members to make suggestions for these positions (please list by rank in your suggestions). The Senior Leaders will seriously consider these suggestions, but will retain ultimate appointment authority. This thread shall remain open for at least three full days before being closed to give members a chance to make suggestions.

Article 7. LEADERSHIP TERMS

The terms of office for the three Senior Leaders shall run for one full year from the date of appointment unless voted out by other means stated in this Constitution. After one year, that particular Senior Leader(s) must be revoted on by the entire clan to retain title. Any Co-Leader who is promoted to Senior Leader due to a premature vacancy of a Senior Leader shall be voted on according to Article 3, Section 1 of this Constitution. That newly appointed Senior Leader’s term shall run for the remaining part of the year term of the Senior Leader he/she replaced.

Article 8. POSTING OF MINUTES/VOTE RESULTS

The Senior Leaders shall make sure the Secretary posts the minutes and voting results for any matter voted upon in a clan only thread. The Senior Leaders retain the right to disclose what gets posted or not for the benefit of the clan.

Article 9. CODE OF CONDUCT

All clan members shall follow the clan Code of Conduct that is posted on the website. Any violations can be brought to the attention of a Senior Leader and action taken as necessary.

Article 10. CENSORSHIP

No censorship whatsoever (except vulgar language and inappropriate comments) will be applied. Members have a right to say what they want to say and if any person with their privileged power is caught editing another's posts, the editor shall be demoted one spot and removed of moderator or adminship.

Article 11. WAR

Section 1. A declaration of war falls into the category of Major Issue and must be decided upon in a poll with 19 of 25 votes needed to pass. If the poll becomes a stalemate the war declaration is ruled as No War but may be repolled if the issue that the war is about continues to escalate.

Section 2. Choosing guards will be the job of the three Senior Leaders needing a 2/3 vote to make a member a guard. The chosen member may reject the offer as being a guard if they so chose.

Section 3. KoTR must elect guards for temporary guards in case another clan shall declare war upon KoTR. In the event that KoTR should have a clan declare war upon KoTR then a poll must be made to see how the members feel about the war and should be handled as a regular war if the clan majority view is to go along with the war.

Article 12. ADMISSIONS

a. For a TAO player to join Knights of the Round the player must pass an interview, then they must find a recruiter or higher ranked KoTR member and play a quick tryout and pass, on the other hand if they were not good enough then they may reapply at a later date against different recruiter if they so choose. Having the applicant passing the two previous steps and have them register at these forums.

b. If a player wishes to be readmitted into KoTR they need to specify why they left and why they wish to rejoin. If they left due to a hacking or a uncalled for expulsion then they are to be readmitted immediately.

Article 13. EFFECTIVENESS OF THIS CONSTITUTION

This Constitution shall become effective upon posting it in the clan forums and receiving fifteen (15) ratifying votes from existing clan members.

Article 14. AMENDMENTS

Any word(s) may be changed, removed, or reworded if a poll is made this poll will fall into the category of Major Issue and must be decided upon in a poll with 19 of 25 votes needed to

I am banned, but if anyyone thinks I am not in Knights of the Round they are a moron. I never leave this clan and always am in it even when I was a moderator and could be anywhere I wanted.



He was one of the few that "made KoTR? He merged us every other day with below par clans pumping us up with garbage to get a few select players. He gave the clan away. He would make crazy promises and never come through, like sponsering accounts, getting VBulletin boards and a website to name a few. He lied about everything from who he was recruiting, to terms of mergers, to who he even was. His loyalty swayed every other month to some new hot thing of a clan that he would join then "merge" into Knights of the Round. The "few" that made Knights of the Round? He became leader in 2004. Say What? lead Knights of the Round into war with ChaosHoundz and lost horribly destroy the clan and alienating the members other than max2k106. I was a ChaosHoundz member (lead by bludhoundz and AssassinOfLordz, became Strategic Insomniacs after August merge) and I really liked max2k106. Max, AssassinOfLords and I entered a Tag Team tournament which Max2k106 beat Moose at turtle, lost to theburning, I beat xyxaxyz2 (now Realist) and lost to theburning, and AssassinOfLords lost to theburning (founder of the freestyle, then called stoneless turtle). After the tournament max2k106 asked me to lead Knights of the Round with him, after a month or so CD was kicked out of Strategic Insomniacs (ask meletus or nads about this) and gave us his I make things work speech and he at the time had about 1600 stats. CD became the third coleader and did things his way not the KotR way. After he merged in 2005 he gave KotR away and was "hacked" losing all his stats. I made Knights of The Round and the three of us continued to lead until his drama made the majority of the clan fold. For years afterwards after max2k retired I kept this clan alive with various members I helped recruit over the years including Sul4di0xide, Bebop, Baby Phat, KAP, Apolo, and contless others. To be demoted for the fraud is such a slap in the face its unheard of. I am so pissed I can't even type about this anymore.
