Looks like i'm going gold some time this week so I need some input on my unit action. I'm thinking 2 clerics, 2 knights, 2 scouts, dragon, frostie and LW in a somewhat cornered formation. Seems unstoppable to me but I really don't know cause I haven't tried. Any suggestions?

All fairly standard gold formation, but that's not bad to be standard. The real challenge comes in the formation, so....I'm just talking out my butt.

If you're going for a cluster, I'd reccomend putting the LW up front and closer to the center than your formation. Also, BTW, your form may be a little weak against Golds cause of the lack of SG. If you have the SG, the main problem is which units to orbit around the SG, and the formation kind of makes itself.

with two scouts, the effectiveness of the sg is lowered... but you'll find yourself attacking more often than defending if you dont have an sg. (story of my life)

I keep my lw in front of my cleric to prevent witches from running in and killing him.

One game a gold had a DSM on the very front line, he got first turn, he ran in and killed my cleric and hurt all my guys. That was quite annoying. :)

Luckily, he didn't play with a cleric, and didn't have a strategy, so I won. But if he had a cleric I would have been dead.

And what his DSM was doing in LW range is beyond me. But whatever. :)

The Stone Golem should come with the stock Gold Units - though I got mine when it was released, as I was already Gold.

Right, I think on the site it says people who have been gold two months get it. But I've seen newer golds with it, it's a standard piece of equipment in any gold lineup usually. Maybe you should ask one of the admins about it.

The time most people leave an activity is when it is stopped for a few days or so for some reason or another. When it's over, they find they're not as interested in it as they used to be, or it's too far updated for them to pick back up, or they don't have the time, or they find something else, etc.

Be careful with finals! It would suck to lose any oldies to that trap! Make sure to keep on visiting!

In other other other news, I updated the ranking board on the website. Suprisingly, I actually made it into the top five this time (#4), and former leaders like Choi and Atomsk are down near the middle. the rating system is bringing to light some very interesting facts. or they're just not playing, whatever.

In other x 4 news, me and Choi have decided that we're going to remove the clan rating system. It wasn't really being implemented well in the first place, and it gets in the way of team practice. If anyone has any comments on this, feel free to post.

And...the comic is still on it's way. i know i keep saying that, but i've been really busy and, well, really lazy the last couple of weeks, sorry.

I updated the ranks and member list, so you guys can check it out if you want. Banff is dominating the rest of KOTR, btw, though GL now has rescueranger, who's in the 1400 range. Boo yeah :D. Sadly, I'm still in eighth place with 1126. It was nice being in third, even if it was only for a little while :p

Hello all. It's been fun. It really has. I've watched KOTR grow and mature, and I've loved every moment. However, you may have all noticed that I haven't been able to get on much at all. Which is, well, because I can't. I don't have any free time any more, and there are other personal reasons. The GL server is now under the control of Choi, and the leadership is now up for grabs (if it ever was, I never knew whether or not I was a leader, per se). I'll miss all of you, and I'll probably make time to visit the forums once and again to see oldies. Choi also has my FTP information now, so he'll start updating the site for you people, I hope.

Bye to MasterGolem, Ali, uknowwho42, Chernz, Stiltz, ReNeGaDe, Fatb0y, all the oldies who made it special.

im getting slightly bored of tao....... any suggestions? also who votes we pay blizzard to fcking get starcraft 2 on the roll? sc and bw are great...... cept for its not very well balanced anymore, which isnt suprising cause everyone now knows the best strategies to use in all situations. I mean, ive never lost a zvt since medics came out.... lurks do nothing and wraiths own zerg. and then there is fcking tank drops everywhere, works specially well vs toss players. and lets see...... zerg has the huge production rate that allows them to keep the pressure on a toss player while they expand everywhere and then just overwhelm him. over all, the imbalances lead to this ranking of races.....

1. Terran (Advantage vs any other race, virtually unbeatable vs zerg)
2. Zerg (Advantage against protoss)
3. Protoss (We always have the disadvantage)

now as i myself am a protoss player, this is very uncool. so whos up for banding togethor and getting sc 2 on the roll..... maybe we can b beta testers too...... i better damn well get to beta test that game......

He then slowly walked out of the door, leaving just a gust of wind, and a memory.

There was one clan before ours, thus we were not the first. We are, however, the oldest clan on TAO by far. We're also one of the most respected, because we play with class and honor. And because we own.

Hydrant: I'd rather have three good, active members in this clan than 30 twits. The team we have is outstanding, even if it's size is fluctuating by the hour. We'll get by and move on. That's what we do. We'll probably be the first clan to be a year old. Heck, we're already more than three months old, making us positively ancient by TAO standards.

As for war... While I want no part in any of the smack talking that seems to be the extent of battle so far, I have respect for Lord Achilles and his clansmen. I would not oppose such an alliance. I'm on Banff, though, and would be able to help only in a limited manner.

I guess that since Hash and JD6 left this iis gonna sound worse than it normally would. I am canceling my gold account. THe game has gotten to monotonous. Also, I have better things to spend my meger allowance on. It is not because of KotR that Ive done this. I started paying for the game because it had replay value, but now everyone uses nearly the same formation (at least golds do). Also the games now take to long to play because of that incredibly funny furgon. I will still be showing up every now and then on the forums but probably not in game. If KotR ever wanted to move to a different game than count me in. Maybe this game will get better, if it does than I may come back (esp. if I get a job after I move).

I am deeply saddened to see so many of the original members of KOTR all leaveing. Hashish_Scout. ReNeGAdE. JayDude. KOTR was once the mightiest clan in all of TAO. Even if you asked our most hated enemies, they would regretfully tell you that KOTR was far superior. We had some of the best players and trash talkers lol. I am sad. This is a sad day for KOTR. However, I feel that the strength that is KOTR will lend its power to new members. There are a small few still left. Learn from them. Hallo all, just bopping in to say hi. It's nice to see that Hydrant and intense are back. What's not too nice is that Lone Wolf and Jaydude6 have left :(. That's a real bummer right there. If any of you guys are here when summer vacation rolls 'round, I'll probably bop in and see how the game is going. Right now, the game is still sucking, but the forums are second to none.

And I hear that Say What? is slowly taking over the clan with his new members. What's up with that? I don't really have any basis to be sad about that, anyone can get the leadership position, but I was kinda hoping one of the eldest would step up and take the reigns of power.
