Haha thanks. So, I guess the next question would be: what do we put on this site? Let me see: A flash intro of course; we're classy people. Um, a members page, where we update who's in the clan. A help page? Maybe. Depends on if we decide to let n00bs in. What else could we put on it?

Well, I think that we need a chat room in the web page... we need some faster way to communicate, and I don't think everyone here has aol.
We're going to need a members page, and also a password to make sure other clans don't get in. We don't want our stradegies getting out, do we?
Shadows, don't worry, we're just "pouring the cement foundation" for this clan. Just wait a few days.
And about that post about a leader... there isn't one. If there becomes a need to get one, or you guys just want one, then we can have one, but i created this clan with the idea of everyone having an equal voice.
While we're on the subject, should we have like "jobs"? as in everyone has just a thing they're in charge of? of course it would be voluntary, but it seems like a good idea.

I enjoy this game and i think that Clans would be cool. But with the current way that this game works it seems kind of awkward. Although im not gold yet (hoping that it might come with christmas) and i don't know what extra oiptions u guys get on the servers. It seems that if u were waiting in the lobby on a "board" that someone u didn't want to play might jump in. Then u are getting ur stats screwd up by either having to leave the game to play your friend. Or u stay and finish the game and delay (maybe forfiet) the clan game. Also your clan is spread across different servers. You can all create new acounts on the other servers but that is ineficient, wastes server space, and unless ur wanting to pay $15 dollars a month ur not gonna have gold on them all (i don't really have to say less unit selection do I?)

Begin reasonable requests for Clan server- I think if clans were to work well in this setup it would need more gold members, to support a 4th server specifically setup up for clan games. This server would need password protection games, also maybe a buddylist kind of thing. It would have to track stats of the clan. Have a system of starting new clans say 6 members or more. One thing that has to happen is being able to duplicating your Gold accounts from the other standard servers.

Begin Wishful thinking- It would be really nice if u could make a 2 vs 2 or more to actually get the full "team/clan" effect. Also creating maps that show territories that u can battle for, (terrain maybe) And Clan specific paint jobs. Maybe battle flags for the knights to wear on their backs. Larger battles. This would also encourage more people to become members.

Anyway this is just my view of the current situation. If guys can find a way around the current problems then i would love to join.

On a related note...I edited the flash. The navbar still does nothing (since there is no where to go yet) but it now looks slicker than ever. the knight no longer bulges obcenely, and everything is smaller and neater.

I think I would like to join even if their isn't a big advantage to being in a clan right now. If the game ever does get some support for clans then its better to be in the good one now, than try to get in latter.

Version one of the navbar had a placeholder image of a knight, which I had to stretch out in weird and grotesque ways. the three knights now are better. Plus, every1 e-mail me at impertur@imperturbable.net with your stats. I'd like to get the rank board underway.

And to reply to Al's comment, of course we're better. we have Aezeal, the best player in great Lakes, we have tons of great players, we have one of the only females, we have a site, and most of all we were first, so there :p

The basic forum is up, but sadly there are no free ones that can be customized enough to fit in like this one does

ie. the forum is 3d blue and white, with 3d yellow smilies.

My paypal account got deleted....so I was forced to make a new one. In order to pay the 5 $ monthly paypal requires you to sign up for the expanded use number. It costs 1.95 to sign up. I did it buy paypal doesn't give you the damn number for up to 4 days. So untill I get the number I can't go gold. Server wipe will be any day/hour/minute and paypal probably won't come through to me by then. I wish I could like send 5 $ for the first time to Bill's home address then pay through paypal for the rest of the months. Ughh.

If you check the strategy forum there, I've done some numbers crunching that you might find interesting. I'm a Gold member on Banff with a record as of 11:30 EST of 41-0-11.

I've also helped organize large 1v1 online tournaments in the past, and my experience could prove useful in maintaining a private ladder system for our clan, as was mentioned at one point.

I'd loe to pitch in and help get this thing up and running in any way I can. This clan is already shaping up to be one of the premier teams on TAO, and I want to help make it great.

The whole clan: just to show you, yes, I'm still working on the site and for the clan. I've added a home (http://www.imperturbable.net/home) page to the site. It isn't as hi-tech as I promised it was, but i think it looks nice and trendy. The ninja is just temporary =) the server is down so i can't capture a screenie of a knight, but as soon as the server is back online i'll switch the people out. Also, I changed the logo to make it more modernish. Tell me what you think of the updates =)

Looks great now Hash. You're using a Apple, so your images do look different. With Macromedia tools you should be able to select "Windows Gamma" from the View menu. Switch that on and off to see how it looks in both worlds. You can find resources on the web about Gamma values (http://www.cgsd.com/papers/gamma.web.html) and what they mean for images.

We can also use a ranking system to keep track of matches within our clan regularly. We could set it up so that, if Hash and I play, and Hash wins, we both e-mail the result to someone who updates the records and posts them.

Keeping records like this would also transcend the deletion of records on the servers, and might be a better indication of clan standings.

Nope, we're accepting new members, and every1's new once. Go to our forum (http://www.imperturbable.net/ipw-web/bulletin/bb/index.php) and create a poll in the membership area. If three people want you in, you're in. If some1 objects, we find out why. To help get in, you might want to organize a game with a member so they can analyze you.

I think that's it, other members let me know if I'm wrong.

To get started, then, we'll simply record the results of matches within the clan. If you play a match with another member of this clan, you need to PM me with the following info:

Date/time of match
Server of match
Your TAO Name (if different from forum name)
Opponent's Name
Result (Win/Loss/Tie)

I'll need PMs from both players in the match to make it official, simply to prevent shenanigans and to authenticate the match.

If both players agree, the match may be considered unrated, and neither player will report the result. These matches are considered practice, and (obviously) would have no bearing on rank.

I posted more on the proposed rating format and system on the KOTR Forums, I'd like to see any feedback posted there for discussion. Once I start getting results PMed to me, I'll log them.

I think you can authorize different users to different forums, just as the Gold Strategy forum here is only available to Gold Members (and not all as moderators). You could simply make some forums as members-only and set registrations to an approval system, so that you (or another mod) could verify their membership in the clan.

I haven't played with Phpbb in a long time, and have no recollection how to do it - just know that it can be done.

Choi has been working on some pretty cool stuff.

He's developing an automonous way to update the ranking. Enter a password, the players, and who won, and mathmathmath it figures out the rankings and updates the database. Don't worry, the recordkeeper will still need to be around to enter stuff into it. It'll just be easier than sending stats to me so I can change the picture, or through the forum or whatever. It's some pretty cool stuff. Right now there's something to show for it here (http://www.imperturbable.net/rating), though right now it's just a calculator. When it's done, he says it will be full of database goodness, and will be password-protected. I don't know much of what he is doing. but it sounds cool :p

For this one, no. If you're a gold account member, you can edit the "rank" type thing beneath your name, like i did, but that is about it. On the KOTR forums, I can change your rank for you. I'm not sure you can change peoples names for them, though. I'll look into it.

I found an article on the phpBB web site that explains things...Create Private Forums on phpBB (http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article.php?article_id=16). I made the clan forums private and created a KOTR group. All clan members with registered accounts have been added. Hash, please check.

If you are a clan member but are not registered on the clan forum, please register, then apply to the KOTR group by clicking Usergroups (at the top of the forum), View Information, Join Group. Hash will look at the requests and allow or deny.

These members haven't registered in the clan forum: Aezeal, Clavat, magicianking, Nero, Shadows, and zaeph.

The Membership forum is public so new people can apply.

It would just be a group of like 6-10 people who would get all of the new member requests. They would check out the new people and then decide to let them in the clan or not. This would eliminate trying to get a majority vote from the entire clan. Say a 75% vote from the comittee would get you in. A special forum could be created or whatever. Anyway tell me what ya think. If ya like it then Ill set up a poll to see who wants to be in it and what the clan thinks about it.

Well, right now, we've been trying to make staff positions, xyxaxz etc has created a clan against us, and choi has made a ratings board in php on the site for inter-clan ranking. Al Caponeoni is the Blacklister, jaydude6 is Founder/Mascot, I'm Webmaster, Choi is...I think Prgogrammer, and Choi and Lone Wolf are moderators, and ultraexactz is running the rating and ranking boards. Also, Choi made the forums private, and so far about three people can't get in and I don't know why, so everyone'll have to hope Choi knows since I don't. I just looked at the usergroup and everyone is on, so everyone should be able to get on.

Also, Choi finished work on the rating calculator, which you can view here (http://www.imperturbable.net/rating). It's blank right now, but every time you battle another clan member report it to ultraexactzz so he can update it.

Well, then it's a good thing that we don't have an olicarchy.

Oligarchy is a form of government where most political power effectively rests with a small segment of society. I was just reading some of the xyx clan thread. Pretty funny stuff. I notice that a large number of the posts are from our clan members, which makes sense as they only have 4 members at the moment. Anyone know what their clan is called, other that xyx's clan?

To all the KOTR members out there: criticize the new home. I need criticism! If not, at least say its good or something. i need feedback.

To knock off one criticism: Yes, i know the content is a little fuzzy from anti-aliasing and there are some parts missing from letters, it's really just a one-page movie from Flash, and it does that to movies. I'll make it HTML soon.
