I'm new to this game, so I plea ignorance on this specific subject. But to the best of my knowledge there is no way to spectate a battle. I think this would be a great addition to an already excellent game.
It would give those who aren't familar with certain tactics a chance to see what other people do. And it would help people to become more familar with another persons strategy, incase they should come accross eachother on that slated battlefield.
As I said, i'm not sure if there is already a spectacting option already, but I haven't found it. If there isn't, I highly recommend it.

There's no such thing like spectation, but i kinda like the idea, not to mention that it'll be usefull in the tournys, cuz that way u certainly know who's the winner :P s/s can be faked, this has happened before ... ;)
Edit: And yes... it's been suggested before

This has been suggested many times before. Use the search option. I won't neg you this time cause you seem smart and you're very new. Watch out though ;).

Some1 and Viva, do me a favor and drink bleach.
Altiris was very polite in his announcement of being new, and not knowing. Don't bother telling such people about a Search Function. That simply leads to more 'Forum Police'. He made a very intelligent post, actually, for his first.
Altiris - I too have suggested such ideas, but alas, the TAO staff will not bother to do such things. At the time being, there is no such method of spectation, but keep your hopes up. Perhaps someday.

Thank you for your responses in regards to my post. I apologize for not utilizing the search button, I guess it just slipped my mind.
It would be a good idea, and I think, for the people who wouldn't want to "give away thier formations", or whatever, there could be a privacy option.
Again, I apologize for posting without doing more research.
Thanks,

....look at my post above. I say this, I didn't flame him. I told him to search and I told him that it's been said before...what?

It would be a good idea, but i would only like it if it were up to the players who are in battle whether or not someone can spectate. Like if someone wants to watch a message pops up in the lower corner asking yes or no, and both players must answer yes for that person to watch. That way someone can't freely get peoples setups to beat them.
Edit: I read all the posts above me now, and it's not going to kill you to scroll a centimeter more with your mouse to bypass a thread that may be related to another.

You told him to use the Search Function, which makes the post worthless alone. Then you tell him you, "I won't neg you this time because you seem smart and you're very new."
That says to me, "I'm going to be a forum cop, look at my shiny badge! If you step out of line, I'll neg you! Oooooh."

I prefer the attitude of negging people for oddly reasoned and mean spirited concepts. The reactions of a lot of you kids is hilarious.

Hmm...I think it's a pretty good idea. Although it has been suggested before,I still agree with it.

If I was to picture a young Megabyte, I see a little boy sitting near an ant pile, with a magnifying glass in one hand and a coffee can filled with legless grasshoppers in the other.
One by one he throws grasshoppers down as bait so he can burn the ants in the summer sun.

LOL that almost sounds like an opening paragraph to megabyte's biography. I'm shocked that no one has gotten on that yet...
edit: Oh and yeah, although the spectator thing has been suggested, i still think its a good idea.

spectating would be like a newbie's first thought toward the game
At least that's what me and my friend first thought of

Yesm spectating is usually every newbs first suggestion, which is why it is highest on the list to stop suggesting.
