View Full Version : Tourny Organization site

I was wondering about the interest for players here in an organized tourny site, that would "automate" the process as far as brackets/teams/battle reports for wins/losses.
I have been looking at several tourny systems, and if the players here would be able to use it, would consider putting it together for everyone.
Obviously this would be hosted offsite, and would require players to register there. But a tourny creator could apply for a tourny, then be able to set the conditions/rules and such, and admin their individual tourny.
In addition to this, if they were willing, Mods and In Game mods would be given Mod abilities for the tournies, to be able to continue their work as overseers of crap.
But, before i go through the time and/or effort to install any progamming and/or site, I want to know the interest level.

Good idea, but you would probably have to have the link here, or none of the lazyasses who play TAO would use it.

Do it. Now.
Then we can delete the shitty tourneys and keep the overload in moderation.
Brilliant.

Yeah, I think its a great idea...it will keep the 12 year olds away from making a tourny, considering they probably wont be able to figure out how to use the site

Now, who amongst those who regular run these is willing to put the time into working with the site and keeping things legit?

I would keep the TAL record legit, if that's good enough crap for your site Jeffery.

Jeff it sounds good and MAYBE if it is a success Bills... or whoever like edits the forums and site could put it directly into the TAO site so it would be easier for people to get there. It would also be more appealing to people who want to start playing would see that and be interested. Just a thought anyways.

I think that this is a great idea, and it would be quite helpful with the organization of tournaments.

I was having a chat with Glam yesterday, and we noted it might be good to move the dependancy for tourneys off of the forums. This might be a much better way of doing things...

Ok, I am still working on tweaking a site for this. I'll be letting certain people go to it for now for testing purposes.
It should be able to be operational in a few weeks.

I don't believe mods should have any concern to tournament organization, as that is the individual's choice. However, the idea of a randomizing bracket creator would be quite helpful.

Mine is not a forums, it is an entire ladder/tourny system script. You'll see what I mean when it goes beta.

It is coded in PHP and uses mysql databasing to archive players, games, tourneys, ladders and such.
The script itself s actually the best (and almost only) fully scripted tourny system on the net.
