View Full Version : MTIRL Tournamant

In the spirit of strengthening the TAO community, and having fun and stuff, I'm going to start the first TAO tournament that takes place off the computer screen. Yep, it's the MTIRL tournament! For all of-age TAOers who want to MTIRL.
Applicable Participants:
You must be:
17+ years of age. For legal and moralistic reasons.
A known member of TAO community. You know who you are.
You get one point for every applicable TAOer who you MIRL. It doesn't count if you knew them before TAO, of course. :)
To claim your point, at least one of you must write a brief (or not so brief) synopsis of the meeting, and all others must confirm the information in post. "Screenshot proof" of the RL kind is encouraged but unnecessary. Be honorable.
You may make retroactive claims, with all the above rules still applying.
I will keep an up-to-date record of points in the next post.
There is no permanant "winning" in this tournament, nor any tangible rewards, but we all know you want to stay on top of the scoreboard.

Hey Real, does this mean you're back?
Anyhow, I met Glamdring when I went to Vancouver last month, along with each other's SO. We drove around looking for some Asian garden that we couldn't find, admired the ginormous hedges people have on their properties, saw a towtruck-ninja, and wasted money in an arcade.
Further plans for them to go to an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant coincided with me going to see a musical performance by another friend, and thus we parted ways.
Also, MIRL is an ambiguous acronym. I know what you meant but I've often seen it to mean "Male in real life", which would put a whole new spin on this tournament...

You n00bs. It is for people you meet in real life from TAO.. and not people you knew and introduced to TAO...I think

I met Ace Once when i went to Canada, I met him in this amusement park called "Wonderland" i believe. It was weird.. But still :)
Before, i asked him if i could see a pic of him. Then we realised we were the same age. So we arranged to meet there, after i found out where he lived.

Alright then. I will translate the Slovak language, so that Realist isn't mad about it.
"You are 17? Since when? I didn't know ... :p And why America?
And by the way... What's up? Anything new? Check out your rep board and answer. ;)"
I will be 17 in August, but since I think that this will be a longer tourney, I am going to sign up. Hell, I am 16 and three quarters! Round that!

I'm only 16 but...anyone happen to be going to the Cael Sanderson camp in July in Lockhaven, Pennsylvania? :p

Hmm..I was considering a long road trip..picking up TAO people on the way..but I need a prize to make it worth my while. I would probably hit many people in Pennsylvania..Delaware..Maryland..DC..and maybe meet some Ohio/NY'ers.

Guys, you have to follow the procedure to make the claims. :)
Reviving this because this is hella cool:
I met Andalite in school. She's hella cool and we had a math-ish class together every other day for a year.
I met TDK at his brother's house. He plays chess very well, and his brother's one of my best friends.
