Anybody notice how often people are trying to present life lessons in here when they haven't even lived enough of a life to base things from? Just out of curiousity...how many of the people posting in this forum are at least 21...18...or even in high school. I have nothing against anyone of any age...it just seems to me that a lot of highschoolers seem to think they know more than everyone else, they even seem to think they know more about running a business than Bills and Divine when in all reality those people have never even kept up a lemonade stand (exagerated). I know I am going to get flamed because of this but if I do get flamed, you are probably the people I am talking about. It just amazes me, though, how a lot of people are trying to portray knowledge in the most immature ways. I will not be specific about who I am talking about...I don't need to be because most of you will show yourself while flaming me in this thread I am sure.
To everyone else though...I love these forums and for the most part enjoy what all of you have to say. Keep up the good work and Keep making me laugh.

EDIT - express your views...tell us what you think...but please dont try to tell me that I need to change this or that about my views because your "extensive" experience has proved me wrong. I have at least been around long enough to know I know very little compared to those twice my age.

I hear ya and agree very much. I am 18 out of high scholl and have lived a very full life. My parents never restricted my freedom so I've had a lot of good times. I've also made a lot of mistakes and hit alot of brick walls.

If there is one thing life has taught me, people talk alot, I am also true to this. But to go along with this they don't always mean what you think the words are saying. You must look at the true meaning free of bias. To my knowledge I have only flamed once or twice (not earned) and when somebody said hey your in the wrong, I apologised and backed up.

hey man, some kids could be running a business you know, um, maybe not a, hum, "legal" business, but a business none the less. Especially if their from the hood.

*sigh* I'm about 18... not in any rush... never try to act more mature than I am. Sometimes I do look around at others my age and wonder is everyone just immature for their age or is that the maturity level of someone my age? Eh, I'm gonna stick with the fact that I'm a lazy bum that has nothing better to do besides sit around online and umm... well, if you can't figure out what I spend most of my time doing... then it's really a loss of me explaining... Oh well...

S_K_O_F, I used to think I was the smartest person in the world at 18 as well. I've learned, the older you become, the more you realize that you don't know. :)

i get the distinctive feelings that i'm one of the people he's not going to name.

I will say this though, i AM over 21, but this shouldn't mean anything. Do i know how to run a business better than bills or divine? who knows? But that doesn't mean i'm not able to criticize things. I put up with a lot of crap from people younger than me, and what annoys me the most about it is the immaturatiy or the lack of a coherent argument. It isn't the fact that they are younger than me, or the fact that they criticizing me, it's the way they got about it. If someone speaks intelligently, then i will listen considerately, no matter what age. If someone speaks immaturely and unintelligently, then it annoys me, no matter how old they are.

The great thing about the internet is that you really don't know anything about the people you're tlaking to. With this in mind, i judge people based on their rational arguments, and really not much else. To be honest, i don't see much rationale in the filter (lets not get into that here) so i criticize the admins for it.

As far as age goes, i guess at a person's age based on how they argue. I don't base an argument on how old the person is. So who's to say there's any life experience to back anything up? just look at the arguments, the rationality, a person's life shouldn't even be involved.

DivineRight. Nice to see you leaving the realm of Gold Account Help. Your branching out. Do you play the game too? If so, what server are you on?

I try and play whenever I can, I need to be worthy of the clan that I am planning to eventually join Aro23r. I actually have a presence in most of the fourms where I am mostly felt and rarely seen.

I am reminded of people who don't have the first clue about hockey who act like they are experts at the game and sit there critisizing things that are lucrative. Bobo, your first problem is that, you comment on a subject that you are uncertain on. I can tell you for a fact that if you understood how to run a business better than Bills and I combined that you would not be all up in arms about a swear filter. In the same breath, if you were as keen then why aren't you running this company with Bills and I as your customer? We obviouslly must of done something right to have people like you here.

Well yes, you have done something right... you've done a lot of thigs right, this is a great game. I suppose my attitude towards the filter is much like my strategy in the game itself. Devote as much resources to a single problem at a time. Focusing efforts on one unit will kill him faster so you can get on to the next.

But yes, the fact is that i don't know the inner workings of the game, or the business as well as you do. I think the whole deal with the swear filter was blown out of proportion. For me, it was the endless spray of people missing the point and making bad rebuttles that got me all worked up about it. Also, now that the filter has been revised a bit, i find that i trust it a bit more now (before i was afraid to type anything in the game because who knows what words made their way into the filter list). I know the filter thing isn't the biggest problem in the world, but i do think it is the biggest problem with the game.... maybe the only problem (which also makes it the smallest problem :p ).

And in response to comparing me with those buffoons at hockey games, i gotta say that i'm different. The difference is that they scream out "this is what you should do!" while i sinserely ask "why don't we do it this way?"

The difference in the words may be subtle, but i think the difference in attitudes is vast

Actually as far as I can remember you are not...but I have a short memory when it comes to things like this. I don't even know who I was talking about now...I would assume everything I was pissed about blew away with the wind.

But still...(to everyone, including myself) show your intelligence, show you superiority of the game...but also realize that you are not the smartest person here and don't belittle people whose brain works differently than yours.

Of course if the world can't get along...why should we???:D :D ;) :D :D

BTW, there might be a couple of permutations of fate that would one of us as better at running TAO than bills or DivineRight.

1. One of us is going to grow up to be the next Bill Gates and exploit Apple (again) and Microsoft to make cheap computers that do everything in a mediocre fashion instead of specialized options. In the meantime that business mind manifests itself when he's sixteen, and the urge to run a business grows. He kills Bills and DivineRight and takes TAO over, becoming the richest man in the world! Bwa haha, hahaha! :D

2. Bills and DivineRight could be really really stupid, and we just don't know it :)
