I know there's a lot more to this story than is being stated. I'm sure there are one of two things going on, either:
A.) You were being a jackass and he responded and if that's the case, you reap what you sow so deal with it.
B.) He said a minor lighthearted comment that you took way overboard when he probably didn't even know your mother was dead in the first place. In that case, lighten up.

People don't just out of nowhere attack someone's dead mother for no reason with malicious intent... and I know Bad Co. would not do this unprovoked. In jest? Maybe. Even doing it seriously after provoked? I highly doubt it.

However, you revealing the whole story probably wouldn't allow you to continue your self-pity party so I'll give ya what you want. Ohhhhhh don't worry about Bad Co, he's such a meanie! Geoff, have your milk and cookies and go back to recess.

EDIT: One thing I do find funny is I recognized the "Thunder from Down Under" under your username... it's the name of a male stripping group from Australia. Interesting, if you catch my drift. Wait, now what were we saying about geoff the homo? :wink2:

Geoff, i was on today when this 'Incident' happened so i feel i have the right to state what actually happened. Firstly, you refused to play a gray on gray game with a TDP member. Your reason for this was because you said you had to go. However, at least 5 mins later, you were still on, so you were asked for a game again, and you used the same excuss again. After this second time, an argument started because of the simple reason you had lied. If you had just left like you said you would, or played, or even just said "No thanks,i don't feel like playing", then none of this would have happened. It was simply the way in which you lied so you didn't have to play a game with one of our members why this whole thing started, not because you wouldn't play.

Also, more than once i have refused to play you, and every time i have i always get abuse from you and at least one other clan member. But when the shoe is on the other foot and you are the one rufusing, then you have to make a big thing of it and say it is a reflection on the WHOLE clan. Grow up...

I am not saying that the things that were said were not offensive to-wards you, and I apologize for that, but just remember you are not the innocent victim in this, especially when you do the exact same thing to others...

i do not care if i get negged or whatever by you all, i held the upmost respect for The Dawg Pound for along time until today... i have now got 0 respect for them after what there Leader Bad Co. said he actually made comments about my dead mother just cause i will not play him grey, is this what tdp has now become? i seriously i took it when a member says it but not when a leader says it also they lsot my respect for this actually letting some1 into there clan who is smoke blunts? this is just total bullshit serio9usly i have no respect for The Dawg Pound anymore after this

Geoff like I or any one else cares if you have 0 respect for TDP, you like to talk alot of smack but I sure dont see you backin it up. As for who invited that grey (i really don't care) He was a leader or some one I trust plenty to have my pass(wasn't me tho) After hearing you cry so much,made me remember that this is a game and in this game you and just about any one in your clan like to take pot shots at TDPer's any time you get a chance.
But when it hits you then the cring posts start. take it to your own clan forum where someone might care.

As for the grey jumpin, again this is a game, only played by two types gold or grey players, If it really bothered you that bad that a TDPer jumped or played a grey, you would join us become a voter or better yet a leader and pick our guys for us.

As for the mother part of this post I have expressed to you that I was sorry, I even took the steps to get the MTM account deleted, But I guess me being nice to you has come to a close. now your trying to run my name into the ground. Have a great day geoff I thought we knew each other...

About that smoke blunts? person. I was on earlier and he was giving it a lot of mouth earlier and was calling me a n00b and other things. I said play me and he obviously wouldn't. Smoke blunts? is a dishonorable, scamming, grey jumping and lying n00b. I do not like him. I haven't had many problems with any other TDP members except for that one. I seriously suggest re-thinking smoke blunts?'s place in TDP.

I've had my share of problems with Smoke Blunts as well. Not that it matters, but we played grey once about 2 weeks ago, and he was a pretty poor sport. He realized he was losing after I killed his scout and still had my chanty/bw/cleric alive, and he was all out of ranged units, and he was behaving pretty poorly the rest of the game. Then recently as a gold he repeatidly declined my games for the reason that he needed to get used to his gold pieces. Then he started going on about how he would whoop me anyways just like how he did in grey, even though that didn't happen :p No matter though, anywho, yes, he is a poor sport, and would be a poor addition to any clan, and would drain the respect from a respected clan such as TDP. Also , Bad Co, I'm not sure what happened, but it seems like whoever was on the account of Bad Co at the time was taking cheap shots at Geoff's mother . If anyone with leader access to your account would do stuff like that, I think you should rethink who you give access to.

Also, Pinkie, Lol. I was just recently in vegas and I saw all of those ad's advertising the 'Thunder from Down Under'. I was wondering if Geoff knew about this before :p

He's in the clan though, making an ass of himself in the lobby all the time. Whether or not he is a trial, it gives your clan a bad name (I know 1 member shouldn't be used to judge your whole clan, but his behavior is atrocious.)

First of all...Geoffrey I am very sorry for the loss of your mother. My mother still holds a very special place in my heart as I am sure yours does and will forever too.

That being said though...I am really surprised to see that you have grouped all of the members of TDP together...it really does show immaturity on your part.

Of all of the clans I have ever been in...TDP really does go through a rigerous recruiting process which really does discourage many from even bothering to join in the first place. The ones that do follow through then must be voted on my the voting members of the clan for approval or denial of admission to a lucky few.

Now as far as Smoke Blunt's name...I have seen much worse in my experience of playing the game...so to single out this one name and focus on it is really bogus. I am sure you mother told you at one time or another to "Not judge a book by it's cover"...;) Give everyone a chance to prove or disprove themself rather than to make a snap judgement based upon your disapproval of their name...

Now someone else made a point about you not accepting a challenge (you really might have had a good excuse on why not to accept a challenge)...and I too have noticed that alot of X-Factor members avoid challenges too....The top excuse I have heard from one of your members is "I can't I am doing homework"....Rrrrrrrrrrright logged into TAO doing homework.:rolleyes:

It's really made me wonder if the X in X-Factor stands for "EXCUSE" as in "THE EXCUSE FACTOR"....I still have respect for many members of your clan though.;)

First off, I don't think he has a problem with his name, it is the actions of this player that I and others have a problem with. He is rude, always jumping greys, and then taunting them in the lobby after and such.

Also, it is unfair to just single out XF's decline a lot of challenges. I can hardly find ANYONE to play, so it is not just XF (This includes TDP, Bad Co and others ALWAYS decline a game if I ask.)

Okay, I've all the posts in this read and I was pretty shocked.

To start, how can you insult the TDP recruiting process. I'd bet we reject more people than 75% (Or more) of the clans on TAO. We have a strict process where only good people get in. If, however, you apply correctly you get a trial. (Unless you are obviously not wanted) Smoke Blunts? did not show any problems and was put on trial. He had not been on trial for more than a week or so. So, way to back an argument! "Smoke Blunts? is bad, so that means so is the rest of The Dawg Pound." You're judging on one member, which after we realized what was going on, was rejected. It is a generalization that is completly off. If you're going to say TDP cares about stats and stuff why did we reject Dape? He is an easy Top 10 on Army.

However, I am sad to hear your mother is dead, but also, why tell a whole online community? That just doesn't make sense to me. If you don't want people to know/say anything about it, why tell?

Bad Co. is not a bad person. Not much needs to be said about that.

Also, I see people insulting TDP members because they don't give a lot of rep. Don't go as low as to bring rep into this situation. We don't need that; it's pointless.

Also, if you didn't know, the Mike the Mauler account was deleted. I don't know what happened, but it was deleted.

We don't invite people based on stats or playing ability. We do it based on personality and "geoff is a homo" was invited because we need more minorities in the clan. I'm one, being a woman and all, but geoff is a homo is well... a homo and that's a minority in my book. So yeah.

The ones with the red names I've never even see play one game.... they just keep their golds and their rankings... I don't really think TDP is that powerful, none of their good players play anymore. Pinkie gets orange because i see her on, but she never ever plays ever :p

The ones in white I see on a bit, although for the most part with a few exceptions they always decline games with me and anyone else who asks. This is what TAO is becoming now, no one plays, they are too scared to lose some ranking because they stink now, and they would rather pay $5 a month to chat.

Also, I'm not saying that only TDP does this. Most of the top 100 don't play anymore..

Yes, we have players that don't play anymore, but as you said that's pretty common in many big clans. It gets harder to play, I think, after a while and I agree some people don't play. During the summer, I know I'm going to get more active on the game (I hope). It's just people get busy.

the funny part is you I think you accuse these people of being the only ones to ever do that

2.5 years of the game, its how it has always been. People aren't lazy or selfish, there's simply no point. Once you hit the top, there's no incentive to play. Love of the game only takes you so far after all. If you based your gaming of ranks and stats (which you do if your even looking at that list), then there's nothing left after you hit a certain point. Worse is that point is pretty damn easy to hit.

Maybe if the concept of the stats meaning how good you were was applicable, it'd be different. But its not, its just a race to get to the top of a list.

Maybe have a seperate ranking place for the 'tao legends' with the 100 top rankings ever achieved, but not taking up place on the active members rankings list. Also, I am on often, and seeing as none of their ratingschange from week to week, I'm fairly certain theyjust log on to prevent themselves from getting booted off of the top 100 list.

I also know that people are constantly making excuses about why they can't play. This too bothers me, but so do people who get to the top of the rankings and stop playing. Using your sports thing, does someone who plays half the season and gets a 400 batting average take off the rest of the season just to keep their spot at the top of the rankings? (Probably not a good analogy, but I'm a bit braindead at the moment)

First of all, the information you base your opinion off of is wrong. All but two of those accounts you indicated in red are active players, some of the accounts on there are mine, but it's kinda hard to play 3 accounts at once.

Just because YOU don't see someone on an account doesn't mean they don't play at all. A lot of people have different accounts you obviously don't know about. For example, I don't play on pinkie very often because it's annoying to go into a game and hear "are you pinkie from the forums??" etc etc etc. I'd rather be able to play anonymously than have to make small talk with some other forum member that I don't even know.

Again, I don't know how many times I've had to state this but TDP is not a clan that worries about ranking, stats, playing ability, etc. We're a clan that is driven by friendship, loyalty, and just having a good time together which is why we've been so successful and have been #1 for so long on Army. Anytime a clan nabs #1 for a week or two, they have a big, arrogant toot-their-own-horn party for that week or two expecting to get a reaction out of us then they completely fall apart. None of our members try to make an elaborate scheme to spend their time to get good enough to get up high in the rankings, then mark their calender once a month to log in so they don't lose their precious spot on the rankings and waste $5 a month to do so about a game they don't play. Do you know how insane that sounds? The members that are up there that are considered by you to be inactive are people who enjoy TAO once in awhile, but are mainly here to hang out with their friends which is what TDP is all about. So sorry to disappoint you that this elaborate scheme of climbing the rankings and vanishing sounds nothing short of crazy, but I'm sure you'll come up with another ridiculous way to try to legitimize your claim.

The reason why Thunder, me, and others take this personally is because we're friends. Not just clan members who are trying to climb the rankings as so many of the clans out there are. I mean, he comes onto the forums because he has to defend himself from something he didn't even do then you attack his clan and his members and you're going to get after THUNDER for being a little defensive? 1.Filthy Rich and myself make a grey account named 9-unit, using only 9 units. bringing this account to over 1400 points.
2. Geoff challanges Rich to a game but instead of using his 1400 grey account, he make a new 750 account which Rich accepts since he never turns down a game.
3. Geoff wins the game (partially due to Rich underestimating the strengh of the 750 grey) but geoffs wins nontheless.
4. Geoff talks in the lobby of how good he is since he can beat a 9 unit grey.
5. I challenge Geoff to a game since i hear he is a pretty good player, and also a little too cocky about beating a 9 unit grey.
6. Geoff declines to play numerous times on many different days, always stating something like he has to leave soon, although he never once left within an hour of the proposition for a game.
7. I make a new grey account named x-grey and i am invited to x-factor within an hout of making the account, by non other than Geoff himself, lol. (shows the rigerous regimen of becoming an x-factor grey) although i did school all the best greys he put in front of me to join, but would not play himself.
8. I see Geoff on the other morning, and get Codeman to ask him to play my grey. Geoff declines again, stating that he has to leave in 5 mins. although he stays on for an hour and a half talking himself up about how he could easily beat myself or Thunder, and calls me a liar for telling him i had a grey at 1530.
9. Geoff talks more and more junk about myself, Thunder, and TDP. and begins to cry after a harmless mom joke is said. the funny thing is it was something he said to offend me, and i simply replied by inserting his mom in instead of me. i did not just walk into the lobby and start bashing his mom.
10. Even though i didn't believe the classic "my mom is dead" line used by every person on the business end of a mom joke, i stopped at that. (just in case he was telling the truth)

Geoff simply could have played the game and nothing more would ever have happened, but because he wanted to live off his 1 claim to fame by beating a 9 unit grey and boasting about it in the lobby but declining any real game, it turned into a childish war of words, started by him and some other x-factor members when i was in the lobby without the support of my clan.

Its different when the tables are turned hey Geoff? i never made a thread about all the things u said the other 10 times we argued in the lobby when u refused my game offers? why? because i really don't care what ppl think about me or my virtual reputation.

We both know that you have no chance against me, and we both know that is why you will not play me. thats fine, just do us a favour, and never talk to any TDP members in the lobby. we all know ur a harsh n00b who feeds off 900 greys and convinces himself that he is good.

If you ever grow a set of nuts, and want to lose to me, you know where to find me.

Edit: I have some things to say about this thread.

Geoff: In all honesty, this IS an online game. People will not know that your mother is dead because they have never encountered you in real life. I am sorry for your loss in life and I hope that it will all work out for you. I cannot even imagine how different and difficult my life would be without my Mommy.

TDP in General: A lot of people wish to be #1 on their server, but we all know that you guys have held that and will continue to do so for quite a while. By holding #1 for so long, people will look for every one of your flaws trying to bring you down any way they can just to get their way to the top. I know that many of you guys enjoy having fun and cracking jokes at other people's exspense. (Which I have nothing against. :) ) Along with this, many people are sensitive in this world and do not enjoy other people laughing at their exspense. With this said, You should not be TOO surprised when somebody becomes upset with you or your clan over a joke since you do so much of it. Once in a while, you may go too deep or get somebody that is too thin.
Anyways, I think that this Argument was kind of out of proportion and I never thought it would make it past 5 pages :p .
Hopefully it all works out. ;)
