Mith has a sticky about this. This isn't design, this is designer. I wanted to know what you thought.

If your name is not up there, it doesn't matter. I picked some unit designers that consistantly make great units. Here are the choices.

TB or maybe more properly, tb, is tequila_budgie, a very old school tao player and unit designer.

Viva? this thread is ridiculous, you picked people you liked and that is a poor basis for a good poll choice. you skipped xerent Man's Laughter, tequila_budgie, Kyir, Lonely Tylenol, and maybe a dozen more designers, simply lumping them in other. shame on you! shame!!! no offense to FA, walrus, or Hellblazer but some of these people could be just as good or better than them. And even mith and CP. (here my own prejudice is showing, i think these are the best 2 on your list. and my favorite two on your very limited and opinionated list.)

This thread is a joke. FA and Hellblazer do not belong in a top five list of CAU designers (or top six or whatever it is). By all means, include Walrus, Cross Punisher and Mithrandir but also include Lonely Tylenol for crying out loud and xerent and Kyir.

I told my brother (Mith) about this and he just laughed at the available options. I think the thread itself is a dumb idea but if it must be done, let someone that has been around for a while get it going. I personally refuse to vote at all. It isn't a respectable poll.

I forgot to mention, another reason this is a freaking dumb thread is that the poll isn't public, which means anyone can vote for the same person over, and over, and over, making the entire point of the poll completely useless.

The only person in the whole forum that is qualified to start a thread like this is Walrus. I don't think he's the best overall designer although he's a top contender, but he's been here since the beginning AND he's stuck around. He has more CAU experience than anyone else, he should make the poll (and make it public). My humble opinion.

dont be a dumbass forest. this kind of thing always happens on polls. especially since the older people know the problems and thus its almost always new people doing this, and they have a very limited knowledge of the possible candidates.

Serge has not been nearly as active as you throughout the last couple of years. And he doesn't have a single unit as good as your best five, in my humble opinion. I overlooked xerent though.

Again, I express my annoyance that Hellblazer is anywhere near the top five of this list, not to mention my annoyance that someone considers him the second best designer. Don't get me wrong, he's decent and he's provided interesting CAU commentary many times in my opinion anyway. But he simply is not in the same league as at least ten others. I'm not suggesting I could do better.

Ciompi, each to their own, but i still think that a simple voting poll is the wrong way to go about this - there are simply too many good designers who have come and gone over the years. If one person gets onto "the list" in the poll, some other person will want on as well. If that person gets on, then someone else thinks "hey im just as good as him" and it goes on until you have about 50 options.
There are some obvious choices, but some, like Deadfishguy for example, who left a long time ago and so will be totally unknown to most of the new CAUers.

Still when i have time ill see if i can make a new thread using a non-voting system whereby you have simply post to say who you think the best unit creator is and why. Ideally, each designer would have an opportunity to link some of their better units before the "voting" began, and even more ideally, people would have to mention a couple of example units that they particularly liked when casting their "vote". Obviously i dont want it to get too beaurocratic and long-winded, but we need more than just a little poll that anyone can vote on, i could go get my alternate account and vote, and that would count for just as much as any other vote.

Right now though, i have an exam in about 30 mins, ill do it sometime tonight.

I think all in all, even if it was done correctly, the thread is a bad idea. It will only bug people. I don't recommend redoing it.
