Reset Monthly:
Tactics Arena Online is growing rapidly, but it needs to get rid of the reset. What's the point of spending your time when your account just gets reset at the end of the month? This time perioud needs to be expanded, to minimum of three months. Now many people like getting a high record, and just as they breech the charts, are cut back down to zero. The idea of expanding the length before reset has helped many games, including Utopia (http://games.swirve.com/utopia/), the People's Voice Webby Award Winner 2003 and 2004 Gaming Site of the Year.
Gold Accounts:
Another thing, this game is to power-based on the Gold Members. I can understand that the site needs to uphold money, but you give the Gold Members to many options.
These are only two of the problems, I just want to see what people have to say about these.

you have a trial membership. this means limited access to some units and you're records get reset. If you play this game enough to try and go for a nice big record, you really should be paying. And they aren't giving gold members too many options, they're restricting trial users' options.
Another thing is that they have to reset the servers every month to clear out the memory space. There are thousands of accounts that get created and then are never used again, which creates a lot of junk

Sir Vival: Have you ever heard anybody complain to Blizard because their demos only give them 2 levels and don't allow them to play on-line?
The point of spending your time playing this is entertainment. If you make your stats so important, just pay the $5...Warcraft 3 costs $60...that's 1 whole year of TAO! The expansion pack for it is $30 more, that's another 6 months.
If you play TAO for any longer, then it must be worth the money.

Guys, let me settle this once and for all….
Resetting free accounts is not a marketing ploy.
It is 100 percent unavoidable, absolutely anything using a Flash Comm server is limited by the technology. Currently our servers will not function correctly once accounts reach a certain number. The database is just not useable after a certain point.
It’s a limitation based on the Flash technology which everyone can admit is very break through TAO is pushing the limited of what Flash and Flash Comm servers can do.
So you all have to understand ANY company, do anything requiring record keeping would reset things after records hit a certain number. It’s just unavoidable.
Seed, Marcomedia, Uvault and anyone that is familiar with servers/databases will back up this claim. Currently Flash Comm doesn’t scale to extreme levels, and 300 000 accounts in 1 month is VERY extreme.
I hope this clears it all up, and yes we still do hope if you want to keep your record and play the game often enough to value your record you would be willing to support it for a small fee, but that is NOT why accounts are re-set it is not a punishment for lack of support. It is just a limitation we currently have.

Even if it WAS a marketing ploy, you would have absolutely NO NEED to defend yourself.
You guys have actually done an amazing job balancing your limited number of units, both grey and gold. I've online gamed since MUDDS in the early 90's and seldom have I seen so well, yet so simplistic, of a set up board. Greys absolutely DO have the ability to defeat golds.
People with the ability to get a free account forever need to suck it up and accept there will be differences between paying and non paying accounts. So grey's have their records reset. Fair enough trade for free play.
