Ok... here goes. I am playing horribly at this game. I've been jumped by greys and beaten, lose 22 of 25 games. I really don't see the point of playing this when the only time i can win is grey vs. grey. I really like this game but ive been playing for 5 months but, the only thing i know is LOS. I like (love) playing but i cant beat anybody not even players my level. go to banff and look my stats and then shadow2218 and shawnlittle. i lost to both of them and shawn little started like 2 months ago. pitiful. also i joined SI for training and to be good but results havent changed much

Well, one way to help with how people percieve you here is to first remove your banner. I mean, associating yourself as "dumb and dumber" probably isn't the best thing for you to do, and the table stretches it causes might annoy some forumers.

Second - you need to start picking up on which attack combinations get guarunteed kills. Say a person attacks you with a witch. If you scout her, it doesn't matter if the person heals - a following knight hit will still kill the witch. Similarly, two knight hits on a pryo will kill it regardless of heal. Start seeing patterns like that.

Third - don't use your scout as an offensive suicide run. I find a lot of greys have a habbit of running him up to kill clerics, and this generally results in live clerics and dead scouts. Use him to pick off the defensively weaker units like pyros, witches, enchantress if they are in the open. If you've learned your LOS, this shouldn't be too hard.

Second - don't allow your opponent to divide and conquer. If you send in units one at a time, they will be taken down by the masses of your opposition.

And Firstly, you're here to have fun - if that isn't possible, I recomend looking into other forms of entertainment :)

Dude, look at it like this, i used to be even worse than you, but i still played, i played for 3 years almost, and, i didnt even know LOS the whole time, and i hardly won.
The only way to get better is to work at it, and sometimes that takes a while, but, once you get it, you get it for good--kinda like riding a bike.
And, if you want a joke, look at my oldest posts...And, still, im here, and mostly respected and appreciated member of this community...

If you're good using grey accounts, then just use all grey pieces in your set up.

Sangro, Skoff and Mega both have a point. If you want to get better, it just takes time, and the ability to ask and receive help. If your main point was to get some sort of sympathy then your wasting everyone's time. You already have someone offering to make you a banner, your apparently not hated since you haven't lost your green boxes. (Trust me, if people didn't like you, those would be red really quick) Quit feeling sorry for yourself, find someone to help you or do some searching. There are a lot of places you can go to read up on Gold strategies. Ask for help don't whine about how pathetic you are otherwise your going to lose any kind of respect you had up to this point.

OK I'll sober up my responses a bit. I will forwarn you that it's not going to be what you want to hear, but it's true.

You're a teenager. Despite what you may believe, that fact holds more weight in your current feelings then your inability to beat up other players. You're in the middle of a hormone storm and the worst part about it is you aren't aware of that. Trust me, my endocrinology exam is tomorrow, I can explain precisely what is coursing through your blood.

Now the problem comes with reacting to said hormones and confusion. Many boys your age tend to just get angsty with their friends. However there are many cases where people will be more secluded away from the people who are also going through it with them, either voluntarilly, or simply from lack of larger social network. It is in these cases where it's quite common to see such individuals dive into the internet, escape behind anonymity, and portray various personalities as they see fit.

Unfortuantely, some people believe that they might find answers or peace of mind within this electronic network, and generally find themselves in one of two situations:
1) Among peers going through the same things, willing to offer support to each other and show concern, or
2) Among a diverse crowd unsympathetic due to forgetting ever being in that state, or simply not caring about everyone who pops up with a problem.

Many times this all takes place in a chat room with "regulars" such as an IRC channel or specific site that brings people together. Unfortunately, you got stuck in TAO, which is probably the worse setting for what you need emotionally.

Currently you are unestablished and as far as you see have no way of becoming established. So, in the end, what I'm saying is that you're in the wrong place for what you're seeking. That doesn't mean you are wrong or bad in every way, it just means you're not going to be able to find what you want here. You're walking into a butcher's shop and asking for ice cream.

So my advice to you would be to enjoy the game as you can, but not invest any emotion into it or the TAO community. Feel free to PM me if you'd like to move the conversation to a private setting.

If you feel that you suck and cannot beat golds, battle players that have much more stats than you, and join clans with people you think could help you play better. If you think you can only beat greys, but yet you want stats, ask high-level greys for games, or you can try new strategies and setups, etc. I don't feel sorry for you Sangro, but if you feel you're horrible at this game, stupid, un-skilled, than I'd be glad to help you some time.

just keep playing. i went gold on legends a month ago. ive been grey since the game first came out on addictinggames. all my grey accounts have higher stats than my gold. does that mean i think i suck? no that means i think theres room for improvement...and i work on it...i suggest you do the same...
