Was our most recent game, he bitched and bitched the whole time that i was getting the luck, when in reality, i just outplayed him (Luck wasn't a big factor, I got maybe 1 side scout block, and apparently that equalled 7 units...). After the game , he was insulting me in the lobby, and wouldn't stop. He is an asshole. Whether or not he deserved a floor full of people with an insulting clan name is another question, but I can assure you he probably did something to deserve it.

First, there's no need to fight this much. You guys are just releasing your pent-up anger at each other; no matter how much you do it, neither one of you will gain any ground, because you're so convinced of your own opinion. So don't bother.

On the manonfire issue, making this clan is no different than many of the things manonfire says. Only, this time, we're saying it as a group so it gets across to him. We may be "stooping down to his level", but we're doing it in style :cool:.

well, manon was cool when he was in my alter-golds clan. but when i actually played him on army, he said i sucked, refused to admit various losses when he stated his record with me and pulled a cheap win. he played me and even though he knew i didnt play DSM he decided to keep it in his set. now techniacally this time didnt say no DSM but he ahd played me 6 games previously(which i won. he admitted to 2 of them.) he also got very lucky and bragged about his lucky wins(abasically all but one) vs. me. we are now not on polite speaking terms.

I have been reading this thread and I would like to express my opinions.

On one hand (my teasing, joking, ragging on people hand), I thought that was pretty funny at first. So, alright for a GREAT burn!

On the other hand (MY DAMN CONSCIOUS HAND!), I find that this was a little messed up. With guys you hang around with this behavior is cool and funny, but in the public eye, especially in the TAO communtiy, there are many people with different opinions and may find things offensive. Uniquinous has a valid point, but she could have espressed it a little less...intense.

As for MOF, I feel the same way that yall do about him. He is an arrogant little worm, and he is a sore loser. I wouldnt go out of my way like that to offend or hurt him. I would do what I always do when I get aggravted with this game, and that is hitting that little X in the top right of the window and go to pokerstars.com. Although, if I saw a screeny of all of you saying, "STFU NOOB!," or even Bludz shouting it (I would hope that he wouldnt do this though.), that would be more funny to post and less offensive.

In closing, I guess my point is to just watch what you say. A lot of people have problems as they are and may just be trying to vent over the internet. At the extreme you may incidentally cause someone to commit suicide or something.

Right now, I REALLY don't feel like arguing / explaining things, but I will.

The TAO community didn't 'overreact' when 12 was banned, so don't give me that excuse. 12 was and still is a veteran, and member who has done more for this game than most people ever will. He was banned unjustly, after a failed attempt to be humiliated by an ADMIN.
Those are fair grounds for how we as the community acted when this was committed. In that case, 12 did nothing wrong to deserve any of that.

In this case, Manon has done MANY things to deserve that.
For example: One day, I was on Revelations. I asked Manon for a Turtle game, knowning his skill was well recognised in this catagory. I enter the arena to find a front line "Anti Rush." On all counts, this was wrong, and cheating, as he agreed to the Turtle match. As we went to the lobby, I was frustrated, and asked him why he did such a thing. He, went ahead and claimed he had done no such thing. So, he cheated, and then lied about cheating. What else? He bragged during and after the battle about his "skill", which actually translated into his luck. Alright, bragging, cheating, and lying. What next? Ah, I've seen him MANY times come out of a game and begin ranting and cursing about how he was cheated of the game by luck, and how his opponent must be hacking the system. Alright, that brings the list up to bragging, cheating, lying, cursing / ranting. To add all that up, it's not like he does that once in a blue moon.

SO! Manon DID have something coming to him. He always has. As I stated before, this WAS wrong, but for idiots like Manon, I really don't care. Sure, he might not learn something, perhaps he will. Ah I understand your point better now. Lemme address it. The way I normally go about handling normal inapropriate clan names is by assuming leadership of the clan and expelling every member from it. Afterwards I either transfer the leadership to a grey acount to be eventually wiped, or get that account deleted. If leadership cannot be assumed due to stubborness, I consult with at least one other mod and then move for deletion of the account itself that holds leadership, and try to remove as many people holding that banner as possible from the lobby in the meantime. There is no /deleteClan function, which is why we need dummies on Rev.

So, if faced with an ENTIRE lobby of people in such a clan, I would start with the normal steps: requesting everyone in it leave. Generally I give a timeframe, as you might have seen with inapropriate names:

equitas: user "i fuk little boys" you have 15 seconds to click exit and not return on that inparopriate name again before you are kicked from the lobby

So, yes it came across as police-like, but that's somewhat engraved within the job description.

As for "it was coming to him".... again, disagree for previously stated reasons. There was no immediate threat, yet a horde of people assembled to "give him what was coming to him" - this isn't justice.

Thank you for the confidence Teacher, and you are correct in stating that my motives deal more with "real world" every day conflicts that are still being fostered in today's youth, allowing for the propagation of said conflicts. Not that I'm aware of. This was done in game. The other complaints I have recieved have been in regards to in game behavior. As such, an in game mod can take action.
