Alright well. SInce this is General Strategy, I have a question. It seems like I've been doing this alot lately and I can't break the habit. So Im asking the community if they do the same thing.

Do you create safety nets in the game? by safety nets I mean keeping a unit alive to assure you a draw in case worse comes to worse? Like I'll use this as an example. Me and Spencer were having a game, an amazing one at that, and about near the end, I was stuck with a frost golem and scout against his knight and DT. Yet I planned to leave the DT alive till the end before the game even started because I felt if worse comes to worse I wanted to make one last move.

Suffice to say, it seems like I dont even bother going after the DT b/c of this. And Im looking for some people who do the same, and see how they broke it.

Interesting.

Sometimes it's not worth going after the DT. He's rarely my main target although I'll attack him sometimes if he's vunerable just to force him to retreat.

In a more general sense, start with a plan, but be willing to adapt it. Decide which units are the biggest threat, which are the easiest to kill, and so on. If you decide from the get-go to not attack the DT you might end up going after units that are harder to kill than they are worth at the moment.

To elaborate on what I said before, because I forgot to include it:
Sometimes it's worth trying for a draw instead of a win. You have to decide at what point it's not likely for you to win, and try to cut your losses. This should NOT be the start of the game though.
