Unit-of-the-week

I've been thinking, with the create a unit forum, you could do a non-prize contest like every week or 2. I came upon this idea while at brainburst.com a MTG site. Every week the editors of the site choose the best five cards (in your case units) and lets the people of the forum vote for the best. There are no prizes besides getting recognition for being a Unit-of-the-week winner and you could create a database or a sticky thread in the forum to show past winners..

personally i find that most of the units posted in the unit creation forum are pretty bad. Although some are inovative, i find that the tactical implications are completely unbalanced.

So far, the units that have come out are excellent, and extremely well balanced. I'd trust the admins' judgement on new units over the public's anyday. Lets face it, the public is stupid.

1) He wasn't saying make the winner a real unit, just recognize it as a good and creative idea. However, really awesome ideas might be used as real units if the creators see fit.
2) Yes, most of the units created are crap. But some of them are worthy of discussion and even consideration. The effort put into creating such a unit should be recognized.

i approve of the idea personally ;-) i would hope that it is implemented in some form, although it would have to be perfected into a system that would work, and everyone could agree with first. This i cannot put forth myself unfortunately, but i think that it is managable.

I'd love to see something like that put into place, some people actually do make good units... except for those god units... geez those get annoying after about the 50th one. Oh well :rolleyes: there still are some good ones out there. True, some could never be put in place without completely changing how the game functions but still it would be nice to see something like that.
