Well i've been fooling around with a lot of formations that utilize the frost golem, but i can't find one that maxamizes its potential. It seems that every time i think i have a great one i play someone and win, but then i play someone else and my frost golem is useless. Any help?

The frost golem will not be useful everytime you play someone.

What he said. Not always does your setup work on your opponent. And thats why, you continue to expierment.

I agree, really it depends all on the setups and how you counteract with the set. If it's not going to be of any use to you, you mines well use the frosty as a trap.

Eh, my frost gets some use in almost all of my turt v turt games. In rush v rush games, I usually just try to delay a move, from happening (maybe a 10 hp dragon that will be able to burn cleric, i will block off 1 angle with the frost and then move something down to block other way before it can move :/

the only time i can see a frost not getting used is in an opp-side game where you rush at the opponent leaving the frosty behind. even then, the frost can help in end-game.

if you dont use much in a game you havent figured out all its uses yet. keep at it.

Agreed. Setup doesn't matter so much as knowing opportunities to use it. About the only times my frosty *doesn't* get used are when I beat my opponent so bad I don't even need him, or when I get trounced enough that I'm too overwhelmed with attackers to use him.

Of course a good setup can encourage frost golem use, and some are more suited to frosting than others, but no matter where he is there's usually some opportunity for him

The Frostie is useful also if you don't move him.
If you haven't got a frostie, opponent will be able to move scouts and eventually sacrifice them easily, for example to kill your cleric.

Of course if you have got range units and your opponent hasn't, you might fell in advantage, but if you're without cleric you're trapped, beacouse you MUST attack.

I use a frosty in all of my forms except for grey. My biggest problem is figuring out where to put Frozo (Frozo is my frosty's name) I usually keep him next to the cleric, or in the back somewhere. Put him somewhere where you know he would come in handy.

i keep him with all the other golems except stony, then when i paralize, i try to cover him with the other golems. and knights, for scouts, or i just try to kill the scouts so they dont bother

There are at least eleven more layers than they're needs to be.

I use my frost mainly in turt games (however) i rarely turt anymore, when i freestyle i sometimes will use a frost and put him directly ion front of my cleric with enough support on my weak flank to give him a little cover. Tis a hard unit to really get comfortable with. Kinda like the furgon and wisp.

Even not actually USING the frost golem in the game doesnt mean that it was useless. It may have acted as a deterrent and kept away enemy scouts or unsuported melee units. Or prevented other possible opponent moves. This must be appreciated also

Damnit I wanted to say that >.<

Early in game, frosties never have that much of a use. as games drag on, less and less atacking units are capable of drawing behind lines, unless your opponent goes all out. Aside from that, No range = Frost pwnage. That Frostie saved me countless of times.
