But...but....the Browns were semi good two years ago. What happened?
I say Browns are the worst followed by the Browns, Chiefs, then Raiders.
I'd say the Bucs are right there with the Browns. Tampa has nothing.
All the players who made their defense legendary are gone. They have no QB. They have no coach.
Oakland has a good defense. The Chiefs at least have a QB with potential they can possibly build around. But the Browns and the Bucs look hopeless.
I see no point in even mentioning the Rams, though I guess I did just mention them.

He had me worried for a little bit, especially with Brees failing at life for the first bit of the game. But I don't see DeSean Jackson having a Miles Austin day, even against the Skins.
I will still be in 3rd after this week, but playoffs don't start next week, and I face off against you. And I'm hoping for a good outing, because if I win, it should move me up. If not, I believe I still have a couple of weeks to move up.
It's funny how I'm the top scoring team and in 3rd place.
Desean Jackson sure did try. ;)
3 people are going to be 5-2 last time I checked, while you are going to be 4-3. That's 4th. :P
It's all about when you get your points, you had a couple of absolutely massive games early on but you've also had some lower outputs. I definitely see you making the playoffs along with myself and flash. Probably eagle too, but there is a ways to go yet.
Butch...it was the Skins.
But hey, a win is a win.
After losing to the Raiders you will take any win.

Garcia married Carmella DeCesare, the 2004 Playboy Playmate of the Year, on April 21, 2007, in San Martin, California. They have a daughter named Presley who was born on April 28, 2008. The couple welcomed their second child, a son, in June 2009.
Early in their relationship, DeCesare was arrested for assaulting Kristen Hine. During the trial, DeCesare testified that Garcia, her boyfriend and at that time the quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, had been involved in an affair with Hine after DeCesare's and Garcia's relationship began. Garcia commented on the situation by saying, "It’s embarrassing that I am here today, to be caught up in a situation like this."

OIC. We're here to see a game and see where my parents used to live/meet with their friends from back here, no idea why i'm not in school but I'm not complaining. They gave us two suites in a 5 star hotel from priceline.com because we're awesome. We got lucky I guess. No idea why they gave us two, but again I'll take it. I had bbq beef, REAL bbq beans, and possibly the best bread I've ever had. It certainly seems bigger, and I've gotten some crazy stares. probably because our rental mustang has Jersey plates. No pie or hookers :( but they play the seahawks. Gonna get an Austin jersey hopefully.

At the end of the day, Denver is 6-1. That's not going to change. They won't wake up tomorrow and suddenly be 1-6.

Baltimore is a good team, and if you want to pull the "Denver should have a worse record" card, Baltimore should be better than 4-3.
The only game Denver shouldn't have won that they did was week 1 against Cincy. A fluke play (still catch of the year imo) won the game, but aside from that, they have outplayed their opponents. Denver has dominated in the second half (aside from today) and it has led them to a 6-1 record.
Indy and New Orleans are great teams, and they deserve to be undefeated, there's no question there. But don't bash a team that WAS undefeated, simply because they shouldn't have won one game.
There is no game aside from week 1 that Denver won and shouldn't have. Look at the stats from their other games. Sure, Denver fell behind in the first half, but they stepped it up, and have DOMINATED the second half all season (again, aside from today).
Denver isn't going to have the best record in the league at the end of the season. Denver fans know that. So what's the big deal that they lost ONE game? They will still win the division, and once playoffs start, anything can happen. If nothing else should prove that, look at how the Giants performed 2 seasons ago, and how Arizona performed last year.
If Denver wins, that's great. I'll be ecstatic. If they lose, so what? They weren't even supposed to win 6 games this season, and they have already done that.

Why would you be ecstatic about 1 win. That really shows the faith you truly DO have in the broncos. They are going to go back to the regular "meh" broncos now that they got steamrolled.
Im a huge cowboy fan but you don't see me hyping my team like they are actually going to do something... Denver is still miles from making any true noise in this league.

Both teams problems stems from their QBs... the defenses are just fine.
I personally think if the Boys got someone like Flacco or Cutler they would be in business.
Only win that impressed me from Denver was against the Pats.
And the colts have how many impressive wins this year? They've beaten the jags, dolphins, cardinals, seahawks, titans, rams and 49ers. The only team in there that is "good" would be the dolphins and maybe the cards. The colts are good, but honestly they really haven't played anyone either, :p

I wasn't referring to a single win. I'm always happy when Denver wins, my "ecstatic" comment was referring to an AFC championship or beyond. Do I think they'll get that far this season? No. I think they could potentially make the AFC championship, but they'll lose to the Colts should that happen.
I DO think Denver will do something though. Maybe not this year, but for a team that has a completely new coaching staff, a completely new playbook, and almost a completely new roster, they have shown me a lot so far this season. Even if they end with a 6-10 record, they've shown that they have potential to do great things. McDaniels has proven himself (in my eyes) as a damn good coach in the NFL, and he will get his share of rings by the time he retires. I hope a few of those are with the Denver Broncos.

Wait wait wait, the Cardinals arent good? The Niners arent good? Hoe please, when the Niners have a healthy Gore they are the best in their division. The Cards can beat any team any Sunday, just depends on which Cards team shows up. They have 3 good wins, and more to come ;)

To be honest, the only Colts win that impressed me was against Miami. Their opponents (and I did not watch the San Fransisco game today, so that might not be the case) haven't really shown up, or they simply played bad teams. They are still a great team, but they haven't really had to do a whole lot yet.
Way I've seen it, the Colts have only played as good as they've had to. And the only game they "had" to play well was against Miami.

There's no question Peyton Manning is great and having a great season, but I just can't get over how easy the Colts first half schedule has been. The Cardinals are the only good team The Colts have played, and the only time they were ever consistently good was the playoffs last season. Arizona obviously has talent, but they're still hot and cold.
I know it's all about winning, but come on. They beat the Jags by 3 points. They beat the Dolphins and 49ers each by 4. Smoking the Rams and Titans and Seahawks makes the Colts a lot better than bad teams. It doesn't make them the best team in the league. The Rams and Titans were winless before today, and the Seahawks...well, yeah. The Seahawks have all kinds of problems.

They are not Powerhouses this season. Eagles lost to the Raiders, that alone atests to that. The Giants meanwhile proved that they aren't as good as their record indictaed early in the season.
Cowboys meanwhile have throughly dominated in all of their wins (except for KC) and in both their losses it was stupid turnovers and penalties (curse you Flozel Adams!). Also both losses were VERY VERY close. They could easily be undefeated.

Will he continue to get 300 yards passing each game ... I don't know. I think the toughest game will be New England. Baltimore's defense is most vulnerable in their coverages, and of the people who could pick them apart, Manning would be one.

The Falcons are going to need to play the best game of their lives, which could very well happen.
I give them about a 1:100 chance of winning, which is better than I'd give most teams playing the Saints.
Between the Saints and the Colts though, I think the Saints are the only one that could go undefeated. After this week, they get 3 almost free wins, playing Carolina, Tampa, and Washington. They really only have 3 opponents for the rest of the season that have any chance at winning, being the Falcons (twice), the Pats, and the Cowboys. And honestly, I don't see any of them winning.

Any teams that dominates pretty much the entire regular season never makes it/wins the SB.
Take the Titans and the Panthers last year. Very good records, got crushed in the playoffs.
While there are a few exceptions (stupid pats) for the most part if you do REALLY good in the regular season, you won't win the SB.
Take Colts from last year. Did anyone really think the Chargers were going to beat them?
Anyone really think (based on the regular season) the cards were going to make the SB? No.
The season and the playoffs are like two different leagues. Hard to be good in both.
Also if you ar playing this good this early, you are bound to burn out in time. Also teams have a better change at looking at the film and being able to adjuct during the playoffs.
How many times have we seen Indy destroy pretty much anyone (including the Pats) during the regular season only to get owned in the playoffs (by the Pats)?
I wish the Saints well. I like Brees and I wouldn't mind if they win it all. I just...have a feeling that they won't make it.

I did. As did just about every Colts fan I know. Look at how the Colts and Chargers match up in the past (in post-season). The Bolts ALWAYS play well against the Colts.

Saints beasted the tough part of their schedule. Now they get a cake walk.
I say the Patriots will beat the Saints.

Tom Brady appears to be back to how he was before the knee injury. And in07, no matter how much you hate him/the Pats, he was the best QB. I think we will be able to keep up with the Saints and beat them.

It's not that teams that do well in the regular season don't do well in the post season. It's just that when a team does so well in the regular season they are given very high and unfair expectations, so when they don't win the super bowl everyone is shocked. No one pays attention to the times that teams do dominate regular season and then win the super bowl nearly as much as the times when they dominate the regular season and then flop in the post season.
As a side note, it is almost impossible to predict who will play in any given super bowl because it's all about what team gets hot in the playoffs.

Agreed entirely. A win is a win, sure players can have a bad performance, but it doesn't mean that they threw away the game. You either suck or you don't, there's no getting around it, whether it's because you just suck or the other team made great plays it doesn't matter. No excuses.

Based on how both teams have performed up to this point, the Cowboys are definitely better. So yes, I would say Dallas losing to them would be because Dallas lost the game. Just like the other two they lost, with unforced turnovers and stupid mistakes.
Of course the Eagles can finally show up and play decently, but they haven't thus far. No reason to believe they will this time. But hey, who knows.

If you think the Eagles can't win this you're stupid.
In my mind, they're about the same in talent. Both have good borderline great QB's, young stars at the WR position, running games (though Dallas' IS markedly better), and good defenses. This will be a good game.

How many years has he been starting?
They just had a stat on ESPN. Romo is 2nd behind Brees in 300 yard games since 2006.
Tony Romo is 3rd behind Brees and Peyton with most touchdowns since 2006.
He will win a playoff game this year.
The Professor?
11-02-2009, 05:50 PM
Until he does though, people can bash Romo all they want. He's earned it.
Also, it would help if he won more than 1 playoff game. Maybe get them to the NFC Title game, or the Super Bowl. However unlikely.

What are you talking about? This is his third year starting. And he's got the 4th best record ever (i think. it's either 3rd 4th or 5th) in his first 44 starts. Usually that kind of record leads to eventual success.
Playing in the post season is a LOT different than playing in the regular season, it takes a few games to get used to it. Matt Ryan now has half of Romo's playoff losses. Just some perspective.
