Right now, the rush has a big advantage. Although most players avoid it just for the sake of strategy, I think TAO should support strategy - not just permit it.

I suggest increasing the space between opposing armies. With four tiles of no-man's-land, even rushes will have to develop their pieces. This would likely skew the game away from the lightning ward and toward the furgon, but the lward would still be used and the furgon is purely a strategy unit anyway.

If this is implemented, it would distort the playing field, so I might like the board to be expanded the other way as well for aesthetic reasons. This would make it more difficult for rushes to keep a strong offense on both sides of the field.

Hell no. That's way too much space. It would take away alot of the strategy that people are already used to.

First of all this goes in SUGGESTIONS. second of all, all ranged unit would have to be added, and like u said LWs become useless (no unit should be useless) and id just plain take hours to play a game. no way

Why would range be added? it just takes longer to bring things out, nothing else.

Actually I'm gonna awnser my own question, it's becasue you don't understand the game

Well, if this were ever implemented it would probably be a good idea to restore the range of the GA, and the health of the wisp, and probably a normal 1st turn. I don't mind more space between opponents, but increasing the size of the field may not be the way to do so. You could do better with keeping the same size field and making the middle three instead of one rows "unclaimed" at the start.

First off this would make turtles the most dominate form by far. For that reason, I hate this idea. Guess what, rushers (And Free'ers) have feelings to Turtlers. I don't beleive that turtling is so much "Better" than any other type of form. Just as turtles didn't want the GA rush to imbalanace the game and dominate, Rushers and Free'ers don't want the Turtle to dominate the game.

Sorry about putting it here - somehow I overlooked the Suggestions forum when I looked for it on the list, and this was the closest thing.

I don't think this would ruin the game for freestyle - I wouldn't post it if I did, since I'm a freestyler (grey, what other choice is there?)
Freestyle formations need a few turns to develop, and whenever I beat a turtle with the current rules it's slowly, pushing several of my units in together. More space would allow the turtler to get his units farther from his stone golem before I hit it with my scout.
This was meant to cause problems for rushers, but with some strategy a rusher should be able to hold his own - just not win without having to face a battle in the middle.

Sluff, you are obviously a rusher, which makes this idea directed against you. However, considering your opinion, I think that this suggestion should be implemented only in some servers - while in others the battlefield is reduced to speed up the game, making it a rusher's haven.

I would never vote to just change to whole game. That is retarded. Maybe have a "trail" period were one floor is different when new rules are made. I think that this rule is a waste of time, but might be interesting to try. I always like to try new styles of play.

ok here are the problems. the coder would have to change the basic code of the game NOT GONNA HAPPEN. another problem is it does make turtles the most dominate form. i am both a freestyler and a turtler so you cant say i am biased because i love both styles along with all other styles of play in the game. the game is great how it is without distorting the board and making rushes weaker.
