Their serpent-like movement of zig-zagging aids them in battle, as well as their mysterious power. It is believed by local natives that these snake beings disappear and dig their fangs into enemies. They reappear shortly, satisfied after their feast of raw flesh. Menacing and bloodthirsty, the Zaggers are feared in many civilizations and their skins are sacred.

Health: 51

Armor: 6 (Rough Skin)

Blocking: 0%

Movement Range: 2 (diagonal)

In the diagram,

The Z represents the Zagger.
The M represents where the Zagger can first move.
The M represents where the Zagger can move after moving to the M.

The Zagger's movement is not blocked off by anything. However, it can not end its movement on a space where a unit exists. Its venomous body is able to disolve shrubs, so as the Zagger moves, shrubs enhabiting the spaces where the Zagger moves disappear. It can even end its movement on a tile in which a shrub is on, disolving it. Each unit that the Zagger moves through takes 5 unblockable, unreducible damage.

Attack Range: Adjacent tile

Attack: 15 blockable, reducible damage. Damage doubles when attacking the back.

Recovery Time: 2

I like it. Really original.

Well, the second post is just proof that FA is nubular.

Does the first space it moves to have to be empty as well? I think it can avoid shrubs and stuff well enough for now, lest we sacrifice knights and send this in for a good cleric-kill. Would be neat to change formations around I guess.

Ultra-neat. but why not just call it a Sidewinder?

Cause sidewinder is just a noob name.

pretty cool. the double power for a back strike seems a mite(just a mite) high, especially since it can walk thru anything.

v. nice overall

1.) I was feeling quirky, so I put in my own comments. ;)

2.) Only the space in which the Zagger ends its movement on has to be either a shrub or empty.

3.) It can't kill clerics easily. Don't make that assumption. :p

4.) Yes, it would be neat to change formations. :D

5.) Sidewinder is like... no, okay? And Zagger is derived from "Zig-Zag," but Zig-Zagger sounds too cheesy and American.

No it's not. Live with it.

Naturally it, by itself on a suicide mission can't kill clerics. But with the right sort of support I think I'd be easier than with, say, as scout. Keep the scouts in range and they'll have trouble a few turns in, methinks. Turtles would have less trouble. I was thinking freestyle when I said that.

I think it could also work around any small amount of shrubbery.

Seems pretty cool, didn't notice this. Somewhat similar to my "Serpent".

But I'm trying to come up with something a little more realistic, I highly doubt that zig-zagging can ever be integrated into TAO.

So what do you think of my Serpent?

I think you have something with the dealing damage during movement.
What if he could move more squares but could only atack from behind?

I agree with shatterstar, a 30 power unblockable attack (back) is a bit much. Attacking from behind already gives you an automatic hit, maybe increase a little damage, not double.

But the movement is really cool, I definitly like that part a lot.

30 damage is a lot, but with a regular attack of 15 (20 if it does movement damage), then it is fairly balanced. However, 30 is a lot for one attack. On the bright side, it CAN'T kill clerics easily, because it would take 3 hits (counting a heal) to kill a cleric. And think about it. Clerics hardly ever leave the back row, so how can this guy deal 30 damage to a cleric? Unless of course the cleric is running scared, in which case the game is basically over anyway (and it will STILL be hard to get behind it). Good unit, 30 damage is high, but with almost no armor ( and I think no armor at all would be even better), it is fairly well balanced. Nice job...maybe gold worthy, but the committee seems paralyzed...I couldn't jump start it either.

Well it's pretty vulnerable, so I think it's balanced. :smile2:

I do think that attack is slightly high. Barely.
