Well, I suppose that because all of the other "veterans" are too weakly willed to do it themselves, I will take the onus upon myself to manage CAU. It is quite shameful for me to notice that I am somehow one of the elders of this day. However, the most difficult part of this task is the fact that I willingly offer myself without the bewitchment of the previous administrator. Regardless of this, I have culled the depotism; you may now come to me and I will tell you if your units suck or not.

However, I will keep several Consuls to assist me in the daunting task of voting for every unit out there. In fact, I prefer to avoid flaming by simply managing this voting process. You may at any time PM any Consul about sending your units in for a vote. Units that recieve the Imaginary Golden Unit Plank of Archivement (IGUPA) also have a chance to be voted to recieve the Fictuous Platinum Unit Plate of Artifice (FPUPA)--these awards are the greatest honor in the land. The process of selecting a Consul is a secret, though all should know that it never happens without their consent.

All should remember that my rule is sovereign. All should remember the days of chaos and celebrate at the sound of my name. And if that doesn't do it for you, then remember that I do this with DivineRight's blessing over me and that opposing me would be akin to the opposition of providence. Plus, I don't really care to upset your petty peasant-lives. Honestly, if you'd go away afterwards and not bother me again, I'd just give you a IGUPA or even a FPUPA. But I do this for the children. So far two consuls have already been appointed, Forest_Archer and Cuathon. I don't mind at all that Forest was in the previous Committee and he can return to those activities whenever he likes. Cuathon could be a traitor too. Head-chopping will only occur if they attempt to usurp my rule.

Well, what do you want me to do? Sit here while CAU rots? I haven't seen JesusCraig since I made the Mongrel-Surgeon. Sorry, but I feel that someone has to take order around here.

I'll wait and restructure my ideas. It was a little brash anyways. In fact, I'll wait a month. But if I figure this out better any time after that, I'm not waiting for anything until the announcement that something is happening.

Until then, I'll host an unofficial monthly voting that will continue regardless of who whines.

I guess that means 3 of 5 veterans don't mind that this is happening, with 2 unaccounted for. Also, Sodameoba and Forest said they wanted to join; they'll recieve the best positions of course. I'll still wait a month because this really isn't organized at all, but hopefully a new, healthy organization will form. we can use this thread to talk about it.

In the mean time, Sodameoba can start something if he already has better ideas made up. I'd jump along with anything that will sort CAU back up.

hmm..better ideas? Nah I got nothing. I was just going to continue in the classic tradition of CAU, taking over for Legacy for a few months until someone with more time than I have could take over. Mith was perfect for the job, and so was Legacy. I honestly don't think I would be. I just like to judge. :)

It's all yours. I was unexpectedly indisposed when just about to redo CAU, however you have as much of a right, if not more, to do this. You were active while I was gone and have shown remarkable judgement, plus I doubted I had enough free time anyway, I was just trying to get it started so I could pass it onto the most worthy judge.

I think it was fairly obvious that this thread was a joke. Its very funny that the new administrator actually emerges from it.

But something more organized is obviously needed. I'll outline a few ideas for a, hopefully, better committee. I have two major gripes with CAU as it stood before:

Committee Substance-
The administrator or a judge or two (or everyone :rolleyes:) leaves. The committee is frozen until everyone returns.

The committee will function regardless of who is present and will vote by percentages instead of straight numbers. This will allow for more judges but will make gathering votes more difficult. The administrator will post what to vote for, all judges will vote, and the administrator will tally and post the results.

2. Overfilled Committee Thread-
All Committee buisness is taken care of in the single Committee Thread. It becomes rather large and the information in it significant only to those who peruse the thread frequently.

Voting for a particular unit will take place in that unit's thread. The judges will link to a unit, discuss it, vote on it, and explain their thoughts while voting in the thread the author created. At the end of the voting period, just to make sure that the administrator gets the information, all judges pm their votes.

I'm still thinking about exactly how to structure the new committee. If the first rule works out, that means JesusCraig will have a position in it, I suppose. But I can't just appoint all the judges myself. I'll have to post a poll or indeed base it on the wiles of the old committee members.

Also, I'm thinking about voting for separate awards too, like "most original unit of the month" or something. Any suggestions would be appreciated. :)

I doubt I'll ever think of myself as anything higher than a judge. If we did do something like that, I'd make it a poll or a vote by all the judges available.

Edit: I'm sodding off soon. I'd appreciate suggestions for ways to appoint judges and administrators. Plus, the title "administrator" balks me, so maybe something new there would be neat. Also, how could two people manage one thread? Xerent could be helpful in this with forum moderating powers, but he's busy with Tactics: Genesis.

I'd love to be a part in what ever you or JC are planning but for now I've just been so blogged down with getting ready for college, and people. When ever I do log on all I ever see is crap, sure there's the occasional good read but all the crap surrounding these few diamonds makes me exhausted in giving any reply. Usually I would read every singe thread created and reply to just about every one that felt like it had some effort in it but now that's that way to hard. I'll probably be more active when I find time to make another unit...

meh, dont worry del. they started up with no more support than you. the old commitee doesnt own the place.
i think we should get our own certifications though. because since this really is just starting from scratch we dont want to offend members from the other commitee. people can resubmit the gold units if they want. and we can give them our vote for this commitee.

as far as i can see, the 'admins' job is to just tally votes at the end of the discussion, right? a unit being brought up for discusssion is more the author's initiative and the arguments and voting is a collective effort. so how about something like 9-ish judges (odd no. - no ties) and we rotate through who does the admin work say every fortnight ro so. all the admin work would be collecting votes via PM so there wont be a need for dual rights to a thread or anything.

as far as the idea for multiple sections, we can in parallel to the certification run what f_a had going. a public poll+a codition that all voters must post their vote will help remove random voters.

edit: imo activity is more important right now than status. it might actually be good to get some new guys who know what thye are doing involed, perhaps bring a new outlook to CAU.
