Change the server picture??

Personally, I think the barrier ward's kinda lame...maybe change it to a knight or pyro or something...I mean if you were a noob would you rather sign up for the barrier ward server or the FIRE-BREATHING DRAGON server. Maybe that's why we don't have as many people, even though the default thing will help.

If you want to face off against n00bs, go to Army. If you want experienced guys, that's what GL is for. Or at least, that's what it's become, for the most part. I'd rather not try to appeal to n00bs and clog up the servers; let them learn to play on Army, then come to GL when they find out that that's where the real competition is.

Sorry, Army has the dragon. We also have the better name ('war/end of the world' vs 'a big puddle of water').

You could switch it with a Frosty though.

I dont klnow, it seems ok to me anyway. I personally went to Baniff first, cause you might think the dragon is cooler, but it also looks and sounds more like a expert server, compared to the Great Lakes, and its ward, giving a more, newby friendly sounding name.

Of course I started out in the Legends Server :)

Yes, but without noobs you never get new veterans. You get old veterans who eventually stop playing. A steady stream of new players is needed to keep the game vibrant.

A steady stream is great... a flood is not. We were all n00bs once, no question. The rotation of the default server back to Great Lakes a few days ago made a noticable increase in the number of new players and I agree that's good, at least periodically.

whatever it is, it does need to be changed. have we decided on that at least? what it should be changed too is probably up to bill or one of the admins. has anyone even emailed them with the idea? i cant see them checking the server forums too often :).(bit much). maybe through in a few ideas. or a link to this thread.

even tho it looks lame as some of you say it does have meaning... i mean all the syupid ass people go to armageddon because it has a dragona nd they think all the cool people are there when reall most of them are just dumbass's... GL has more skills and smarter people... some people do really annoy me a lot which is why i've stopped playin till i get my Mute Command ;) but the barrier ward is like... traditional

Yeh, I mean, barrier wards aren't that great, but does it really matter? Isn't fun to have a small server? Its never full. Maybe each server could get it's own logo instead of pictures of pieces from the game.:)

I must honestly commend you for standing up for the barrier ward as a TAO unit because its greatly overlooked, but this is my story.

I signed up on great lakes accidentally because i was in a hurry to get to work and was signing up just before i left (so i could come home to a hot cup of cocoa and some good ol' TAO) then i realized i asked to be a gold member on the one server that looks like a jeweled coat-hangar for an avatar, and i really hope that a moderator or too, maybe even seed (heh as if) reads it he takes it into concideration.

I think the barrier ward is okay too. I mean its been there since... before I was around. And since if you follow certain theoris of thought, what I do not see, does not exist, so technically, that barrier has been around since the beggining of TAO's existance.

And also: It reminds me of the Big Kahoona!.... really far away, and without his surf board...... on holloween, dressed as a Barrier ward....

Im split, i want a kick ass symbol for the all-powerful Great Lakes, but if we do change it to a Frostie (thats my vote), it would attract alot of n00bs and spammers... although, n00bs can grow into strong fighters eventually, and with all the experienced players leaving for Legends and other reasons lately, it might do us good...

I joined great lakes jus cuz its the 1st one if your looking left to right. I really think that the stone golem should be our new symbol because it would show how we can "defeat" Bannif and Army with our Defense. kinds corny but the stone golem is cool.

the dragon for gr8 lakes might not be a good idea, cause since its considered one of the few MOST POWERFUL TAO UNITS, it would attract more noobs than a frost golem, i think that the dragonspeaker mage would be good to represent us as people with class and maturity, that or as the other guy said with a stone golem to represent good defence.

If it were to abosultely have to be changed it should be a frostie but I don't see the reason for it to change. Even if you are supporting total crap if you stick with it long enough you'll feel good about your inferiority...just look at the Kerry campaign.

Also my first account was on banff because it had a funny name and had the 3rd coolest unit(in my opinion, after pyro and LW) for an avatar. Somehow I think I overthought and came up with that there were probably a bunch of idiot newbs on Armageddon.
