DRYAD
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/realistromeo/drydo.jpg
These are the creatures that bind the forrest together, some say they are the ones that created it.They are powerful, but peaceful.. and some say they have the power to give life. They only fight when absolutely necessary and would rather co-exist with all beings.

All the beasts live in harmony due to the dryads everwatching peaceful nature. This "protector" will often stop warring factions from fighting in the forrests, but as soon as the fight leaves the forrest the dryad will withdraw it's involvment......the forrest is it's domain.
:D

DRYAD STATS

HP:38
POWER:17 blockable (3 spaces in all directions at single opponent)
ARMOR:8%
MOVEMENT:3
BLOCKING:65%
RECOVERY:2 (3 for special)

The dryad is far from a fearsome fighter, but she does come with some nifty bonuses.

BONUS #1 when dryad is sucsessfuly attacked(by mele units including beast rider), she will BIND up the opponents weapon in self defense so that the attacking unit will be unprotected next turn.

BONUS #2 her regular attack consists of her throwing her roots down into the ground and being able to hit an opponent
3 spaces away ( her attack goes undergound so you can have a knight in front of her and she can attack a enemy unit 3 spaces away)

SPECIAL ATTACK: here is where the rumor of the dryad creating life has come from.. (CLICK ON DRYAD LIKE A MUDDGOLEM WHEN A SHRUB IS BESIDE DRYAD)..The dryad is able to give conciousness to the neglected and trodd upon shrubGIVEN THE SHRUB SOME LUUUV the shrub will have had to been created by the furgon, now with the dryads FOCUS there could be up to 4 lil nasty shrubs attacking. and now it is a mean green fighting machine...the shrub will still have no HP but will be able to move and attack

these wicked weeds can move through existing shrubs to attack
*note* dryad is in FOCUS when summoning these lil beasties. and anytime focus is broken the shrubs die.

Too many special abilities. Can you tone it down a notch?

What's the "bind" from special number 1 mean?
More importantly: what the hell does "3 spaces in all directions at single opponent" mean?

SPECIAL #1 freid rice an noodou...wid sweensour pok chop.
JK it means if your opponent lands a sucsessful attack on the DRYAD she will BIND the opponents weapon (think grabbing a sword) so that the opponent can neither protect himself or move away (FOR ONE TURN). Basicaly a 1 turn freeze kinda thing.

SPECIAL #2 More importantly: what the hell does "3 spaces in all directions at single opponent" mean?

it means that within a 3 square radius it can hit a single opponent.
it shoots it's roots underground and they come up underneath the opposting unit. (LOS not needed)

So i think to offset her weaknesses 38hp/17 power/2recovery
she needs some specials

1# she binds attacking units weapon for 1 turn
#2 she has good range on her main physical attack (3 range with 17 power)
SPECIAL ATTACK is totaly dependant upon having a furgon in play.

Okay...

What's the point of binding their weapons if they need that turn to recover anyways? Does it mean they can't use armor or block?

Yes deleryn it means they cannot block(defend themselfs) or move away until next turn. ARMOR is not affected.:D

I was also toying with the idea that she could summon a TREE OF EDEN or TREE OF LIFE instead of attacking.(3 turn recovery)

The dryad could raise a tree, maximum 3 spaces away (focus) that would heal units 1 hp per turn (yours and opponents turn) if you hit tree it dies, if you hit dryad... tree dies also... but while under the tree (1 square radius) you cannot attack (unless you move out of tree's area of effect) but you can block and do all other NON DAMAGING ACTIONS (paralyse, barrier, heal, stone) yah i ripped this idea off my NYMPH unit.

When you said "The dryad is far from a fearsome fighter, but she does come with some nifty bonuses" I thought we were going to see some specials to support other units. The first special hardly seems able to balance out the weak stats of the Dryad and simply lets you avoid a melee units blocking ability on the next turn on a successful attack. The second special isn't really a special and just specifies that the attack doesn't use LOS, and the third requires the use of a Furgon and is the only really interesting part of the unit. But even there it's reliant on the Furgon, it's not supporting it or helping it, but using it

instead of making an ghoulash of abilities into 1 unit...split it up into several seperate units, or a unit class even.

meh, this one's average. i think the shrub special, is unecessary and overpowered and the 2nd bonus just means that the attack is non-los like a 'busher or pyro.

its kind of like a passive-ability berzerker with greater durability.

Bloodrien I usually like your units except for the small stuff. The only thing I do not like about this unit, is the bound up part. Instead she should probably suround the attacked unit in shrubs... It makes sense since she is a dryad. Also instead of making their power 15 and a focus needed to attack with them, maybe you could maker her not have to focus, but the shrubs have 5 attack or something...

eh, too complicated.

I understood it quite easily.. its not that complicated at all... expect for how exactly she possess shrubs. But its not complicity but lack of explanation. he just needs to explain her a little bit more.
P.S. Liking the art work 2 thumbs up (tries to add thumbs up smilies)

Agreed Kyir.

Bloodreign, this unit is WAY too complicated. Sounds to me like you had a bunch of ideas that would have fit nicely into say 2-3 units, but instead you jammed them all into one. The bind up ability is a start to a good idea, I like the idea of a unit being paralyzed after attack. The shrub ability is overpowered and relies on the furgon, limiting the ability to make up fun and new and creative formations. Lastly, the attack; "Three spaces in all directions at a single opponent." What? You need to explain that alot better. All in all I give this unit a C+. Think it through more and split the abilities into more than one unit.
