Well, I've just had a game with someone, and they were telling me what they think about the wisp ( Not so positive :p)

So, what are your thoughts of this unit , and its use in turtles.

As for the wisp, I think that because of its low health, it is hard to keep alive, so it requires some skill to use. I use teh wisp in almost all of my turtles, and while i admit it doesn't take a whole lot of skill to use right, making sure it stays alive, and can go to a place where it can't be harmed take some skill :)

I think the same about the wisp. But if your oppenent is good it will die easily if you dont watch your moves.

I dont care to use the wisp much anymore. IT can be good but often is killed easily.

Wisp is THE best unit. I wish I had the pleasure of playing with it at 34 health.

I drove myself nuts trying to beat 7 wisps, a mud golem and 2 pyromancers (I know, can't be done, wrote my own program just to play against myself).
I finally did it with a lightning ward, 2 pyromancers and an enchantress (along with the usual knights and cleric). Tricky, though...

hmm the wisp is a qwirky unit in my oppinion. they are really hard to use right and against good players they arent worth playing with unless they are stoned. Yes they own but alot of times a player can kill your wisp before it can even do anything of any importance.

I've both wispwned and been wispwned, so I'd say it's a good unit.

the only thing is that it hasnt got enough health to survive if you dont use it right

Actually, Draquist both knows how to play with and against the wisp, its just another factor, and he claims its the straw that breaks the camels back when his defense fails :p

I think a mostly-frontline side set of 8 scouts, a cleric, and a Knight could take it pretty easily, really.

Yeah, the wisp in my opinion is a terrible unit most of the time. The reason I hate playing against it is its very good for the way I play. I build a wall with my furgy and fight around it defending off the whole time. The wisp can be safe while coming up behind my own wall and thats the only time it ever pisses me off. If you play smart, the wisp will do very little but I sometimes seem to make one wrong move when Im raping my opponent and if you do that against a wisp it can mean game.

Ive had it used on me plenty of times by multiple good players who played with different styles including bludz, dape and punishment. Ive played all of them multiple times and it was completely useles in 95% of the games excluding the one game vs dape where I let him wisp in the middle of my attacking units miscalculating my frosty and in the game with punishment where I did basically the same thing.

you named 3 games, and 2 where wisp owned you. thats 33.3333333333 % useless, not 95 %

I think the wisp is especially useful against styles of play like yours draquist. It hides very well in your shrubs, waiting for an opportunity to strike ^_^

If you would take the time to read you would notice I said I played them multiple times. Ive beaten them 95% of the time except the 1 game where his wisp came in due to my one mistake and completely took over the game.

I've often said that wisp is like the enchantress of the gold game, especially now that it's not so common as a rush unit. Both units are there to catch mistakes of your opponent and deliver one or two devastating focus attacks a game. That's the ideal though, and often it just dies, or you have to stretch yourself awkwardly to protect it.

Wisp was a very good tactical unit with the old rules.

Now it's useful only if opponent's not paying much attention (and now that Wisps are uncommon, many players, like me, are no more used to get rid of a wisp too easily, I think) or in turtle...

what would it block with.

Wisp is a good unit, some people can succesfully use it instead of a muddie, thats what I am trying to do right now.
