i dont know if this is the right place for this, and i also dont know if a thread like this has been made before but oh well

i was running around on my grey for abit of sport, when this guy jumped me and he had the most weird set with his cleric cornered with the LW and BW so i thought this will be interesting... as the game went on i realised that the guy was after my range and magic units, then it suddenly hit me, if he was to get all of my magic and range he would be guarrenteed a draw which i guess is very clever but sucks to play, i only won because he left the arena but he was about to take my chanty and that was the only magic i had left other than my witch and scout which were both dead.

i dont have a s/s but i wish i did so that you guys could see this

i didnt really know because its a form of play but at the same time a battle, so it could have gone in either but the more i think about it the more i realise it should have been in battle reports

I'm surprised you have never seen this before. It's a very common n00b strategy. All I can say is that if you lose your witch/scout and chanty against a player like this, you deserve to be forced to draw. In a grey game someone having their lward that far back is a huge advantage to you, and you should be able to win easily.
