i think war is stupid because most of the wars is over religion and religion is supposed to stop wars its like on any quest games you have four elements. wind, water, fire, and earth if one of those elements is stronger then the world will be at its fate! its just like real life you got the goverment to set the rules and keep the country safe and under control you got religion to balence out wars crimes e.t.c so you can see today that our world all those ''elements" as it were are unbalenced

No thread is merely "useless."
They are ignorant and usually have no thought put towards them. (well, atleast with the description portion of it)

First off, The pentagon has so many secrets they keep from the general public. Everything you see that is going on in the world are just mere "clips" of what is really going on. Don't believe everything you see on T.V.

Precisely what Thinktank said; you put zero thought into this. Well, you may consider it logical thought, but the rest of us here consider it retarded post-whoring.
Let's see exactly what you said:
You say the war is bad, but why? The media tells you it is?
The famine? Heh, tell me what famine you're talking about. There has ALWAYS been famine in the world.
Pollution you say? Do you (or in this case your mommy) drive an electric car, or not use aerosol cans? If not, then SHUT THE HELL UP.
You arent fixing problems, you arent even helping them. You're just being a retarded dysfunctional member of this community.

Wow, bad day, HK?
Let's see exactly what you said:
You say the war is bad, but why? The media tells you it is?
I'm very curious where you base your ideas and opinions on.
The famine? Heh, tell me what famine you're talking about. There has ALWAYS been famine in the world.
Which makes it less bad?
Pollution you say? Do you (or in this case your mommy) drive an electric car, or not use aerosol cans? If not, then SHUT THE HELL UP.
So you can't talk about pollution if you don't drive an electric car, or use aerosol cans?
That's odd.
You arent fixing problems, you arent even helping them.
Where did he say he was going to fix the problems? He just prefers to talk about them.
Don't you think it's more of an issue how he talks about the subjects than the subjects itself?
You're just being a retarded dysfunctional member of this community.
Very friendly put. Man, you must create some AWESOME mouth-to-mouth advertising for TAO, friendly moderator.

Not that I can put it quite as elequent as Wack has, but HK your being a little rough. The kid is trying to start a conversation about something that as you stated he may not know much about. Why not converse with him and educate him on what he wants to know. You tell him not to believe everything that is on T.V. and you're correct. However, if we are not willing to take the time to explain things to him, it may be possible T.V. is all he has.
Besides, it is not very often a 13 year gives a damn about what is going on in the world. The general concern seems to be what shows are playing on T.V. and what games are coming out. Cut the kid some slack.

Not true.
And the rest of your posts I could not understand because they're so poorly written.

he's 13, what would you expect of him, a detailed analysis of the world and its problems? in a way he's got a point about the religion/war thing. For example, the issues in Lebanon at the moment is linked with religious as well as human issues, ie. the formation of Israel as a Jewish state in a predominatley muslim area. then, waddya know, war! even though the actual trigger of the war was over claims to territory, etc, it has its roots in religious conflict. you look at any war in detail, and you'll find some sort of religous issue at the heart of it. though the point of religion being meant to prevent war, well, i dunno about that, religion and war are almost one in the same with 'fighting for your beliefs', etc. as long as there are different religions, there wil be war.
as for the pollution thing. well, meh, what can you do. sure you could start conserving energy (curse you standbye button!) but you turning your TV off properly or even not ever driving a car is not really gonna make any difference, but that leads us onto the entirley different topic of ideals and principles so I'd better stop now....

I expect him, at the very least, to realize how little he knows on the topic. As HK pointed out, he refers to wars and famine, but can't name which wars or famines are happening at the moment. This very clearly shows good intention and horrible execution. Instead of creating a thread making rash generalizations on things he knows nothing about and then blaming his age for it, he should have started this thread by asking questions: "can someone please explain..."
Ignorance is not something we should put up with too long, even if it's well-indended.
There are certain issues where talking can actively help in that issue. Recycling, increasing awareness, etc. However, there are similarly things which talking does nothing to help with. "War is bad" is such a thing. I mean, the kid basically made a thread on "bad things are bad let's talk about it". Sorry, it sucks.
Furthermore, if he wants to fall back on "i'm only 13", then he should have realized "i'm only 13" before writing this and simply not created a thread in the first place. The real world is an all-or-none game. You can't use ignorance or immaturity as an excuse for your actions.
Now, I don't mean to sound as harsh as HK, because this is still a salvagable thread, but let's just shift it a bit.
Politics: the best way to change the world politically, is to not be 13. 18 is a much better age, as you can vote. However, if you are itching to get something done, I strongly advise you join a political campaign as a volunteer and help out. All your talk of "earth wind fire water" might be fine and dandy for captain planet, but it's useless when talking about war and politics.
Pollution: HK was right - chances are you yourself do nothing to help with the environment. Do you recycle? Do you encourage your school/home/work/parents-work to recycle? These are a few basic basic steps you can take to helping the environment. Volunteer at a local ranger service. Even a 13 year old can be of use weeding out the invasive species from national parks.
Last but not least - ask questions. If you don't know/understand, ask. It will get you much more respect.

Someone needs to do something, yet nobody is WILLING to do it. You will do something about it as long as it doesnt inconvenience you. You say your 13, well, go do something. Get some friends that are like minded and have a sit in. Invite the papers, call CNN, or anyone else that will cover it. But wait, that would mean you missing school, your grades would drop, you might not be popular anymore, so its an inconvenience. Also, PLEASE, learn to type intelligently, and express opinions and ideas clearly and consistently. You could be right about everything, but if you cant express yourself and communicate intelligently, then not many people will pay attention to you.

touchme! It's a good point, but he can understand he doesn't know much on a topic and be ignorant. I mean, the word means "lacking knowledge". I realize I know nothing about... 16th century literature, and even with that knowledge I'm ignorant on the pertinent topics of the time. I just don't... go off making threads as if I *did* know what I was talking about. I think that's what I was getting at, but phrased poorly.
