Today i just saw a kid get beat up for his PSP. Some dudes saw his PSP in school, and they just jumped him, took it, and ran off with it.

I don't know if i should laugh or feel bad at a situation like that.

Wouldn't have done much at the time but I agree with Jeff... Totaly for a bat or club of some kind. That way at least your get some reeming done befor the rest of the groop takes you out.

It was like 4-5 guys, alittle bit bigger than me, i wasn't about to jump in and get my ass kicked because of the kids stupid choice to bring something that EVERYONE wants to school. But i did feel bad and wished i could help, but i had my safety and health to look forward to.

I realy did feel bad inside, cause the kid when home with his shirt torned apart, back pack ripped and body brused, and crying. I hate watching situations take place like that infront of my eyes. I hope those thugs get what they deserve.

I think the people who took this kids PSP aren't planning to give it back unless parents get involved...and im pretty sure this wasn't a joke, or else they would've stopped when the kid started crying

Wow so stupid to steal from a kid in school with you - that's like farting in an elevator and claiming the other person did it. (sorry, family guy reference).

Really tho - it's a closed environment - the beat kid could probably name (or at the very least easily identify) his assaultants. I'm sure he'll get back the toy, or even more money for a new one since I'm sure they didn't take the best care of it.

I'd probably have stepped in and helped defend the kid. This goes along with the earlier thread about theft. Thieves are parasties that need to be beaten senseless to learn a lesson. Sure, I'd probably take a few licks, but at least I tried to make a diffrence instead of just sitting there. (no offense to you for not stepping in though, as that could be hazardous to health)

That's a tough situation. I definately can't see laughing as an option for me. Thats just sick, the poor kid did nothing wrong yet get's beat up and loses probably one of his most prized possesions. Can't help but feel bad for the guy. I would like to say I would jump in to help the kid but I think it tottaly depends on the situation. I would definately jump in if I thought I could help, but in your situation you said there was 4-5 guys bigger then you, it's kinda pointless they would still steal the psp and now instead of one kid being beat up 2 would be. This is more that kids parents fault then his own. PSP's arent banned in schools, at least not in my area anyway. Kids take all sorts of expensive things to school that arent just electronic. Shoes as an example. Believe it or not kids clothing and such still will get stolen because there just a popular item. This kinda shit happened when I was in school and I helped the kid out. I was with a buddy of mine so it wasnt just me, but regardless if he was there I would have jumped in anyway. No way would I have laughed at the kid for that. If you do there's just something wrong with you.

But back to my original statement the parents are to blam for letting him even take it to school, yo'd figure they'd have more common sense than their kid. My school is divided into 5 schools, 5 floors, the kid was from the second floor, i'm in the 4th floor. But what happened sweep the school, some ppl saw it, told others, and reached the principal. I don't know what happened to the kid, everyone was looking for him, some kid wanted to give him 20 bucks. The principal said that any student caught in school from today on with ANY sort of electronic device, it will be taken from them permanantly. Maybe i can get more details on monday, i'll keep you guys posted.

Well if the original kind still has the box, the box code and the serial # at the bottom of the PSP match up.

There are many other way to tell as well if you know anything about psp's, they are very personalized.

Mabie to entertain yourself with some free time in school but you really dont get that. And even if you did it could be better spent studying. If you were a lower class citizen with the hopes of owning a PSP and you happen to see a kid smaller than you with one. Well if you were that mean you would beat him up and take it. You will probbly get caught but at least you have one for a little while. All in all it was a poor chioce in his part.
