Well im trying to do some consistent recruiting on GL.

Rules:
1. if someone asks a question, dont go off on them, even if it seems dumb. i dont need massive fights in the chat which make noda expel everyone. :)
2. While it is okay to be in another clan on another server one must have their active main in SI on GL. No secondary accounts.
3. read all the rules on the SI forum, cause i am too lazy to type them out here.

Recruiting
1. I dont care about your past(to a certain extent,) as long as you conduct yourself well as a member of SI.
2. There are no stat requirements.
3. You need to make a forum account on www.4thfactor.com/forums as soon as possible.
4. I have no problem with grey fishing or greyjumping(if you use grey units when you jump.)
5. I will not do a tryout. I dont have that much time. I might play some games with you later if you need some help.
6. All members are asked to help out fellow players. Try to give anyone who needs it some game help. Or direct them to a strategy site so they can improve their skills.
7. It is possible that i will institute a recruiter system like on SI Banff. Anyone with good skills, personality, and a longtime membership may be considered.
Getting new members to apply might help as well. Showing some initiative is alwasy good.

4th Factor Forums
When you sign up for 4thfactor forums i can get you GL member-status if you apply for it(Follow these steps):

1. Go to your user cp.
2. Under the miscellaneous heading on the side nav bar in your CP there is a link called group memberships. Click it.
3. Click on the GL member group only and fill out the form that comes up. I check periodiacally to see if there are new applications.

Here are the SI rules of conduct for members.


Dear all

After some discussion among the leaders, this is a published list of 'Rules of Conduct' for SI members in any game that we play. We hope that this will clear up any confusion over the 'clan rules' and what exactly is allowed and what isn't. As always, these won't cover every situation but the spirit of the rules hopefully will. You can refer to a leader for any questions or just post here as well. If it becomes a long discussion, it'll be moved to a new thread to maintain clarity.

Our Founding Principles for Any Game

* Promote better game play.
* Anyone can kill a noob. We must mold better opponents.
* Promoters not whiners or runners.
* Got to be willing to have fun.

General Etiquette:

1. Don't be a bully just because you can.
In TAO, this refers to golds jumping greys. This is because you have an overwhelming tactical advantage due to your units. However, grey fishing is allowed, basically because you are issuing an open challenge to any player in the lobby. A similar principle should apply to every type of game where SI is.
2. Be gracious in both victory and defeat.
Sportmanship is an important aspect of any member of SI. If you were defeated fair and square, please be gracious about it. Similarly, do not gloat over a defeated opponent. In the same vein, play fairly and do not use techniques in game to frustrate your opponent such as taunts, stalling, etc.
3. Boosting / Cheating is absolutely forbidden.
SI isn't a particularly stat or ranking obsessed clan. However, we tend to have high stats/rankings because we are skilled and we earn them fairly. If you have to cheat to earn your stats or points in whatever game we are in, then you will face immediate expulsion from the clan.
4. No spamming in the lobby or in game.
Having fun with your friends is one thing, delibrately spamming the lobby or in game is quite another. Please be considerate of other people.
5. Have an open mind to share and help others progress.
Part of being a clan is to readily help each other experiment with different strategies and formations. If you have something which you think gives you an advantage, it would be good to share it in the forums. Also, be open to assist those players outside the clan which may request help in-game or conversely, be willing to hear their ideas as well.

General Clan Rules

1. Loyalty to your name and clan.
It is discouraged to be in another clan on the same server you are in SI. This is a matter of loyalty and not having conflicting interests. SI should be the only 'true' clan for its members. For example, being in SI and being an active member of another clan, helping it grow, posting in it's forums, calling yourself a member of that clan, etc. wouldn't be appropriate. However, being on SI on one server does not mean you have to be SI on all servers, though we would like you to. Grey chatting accounts are permitted, but not exactly encouraged.
2. Promotions
All there several levels of clan membership. For instance, in TAO, there are normal members, recruiters and leaders. The titles aren't there for people to have extra status - there is a whole lot of responsibility that comes with each title, and those that have them have to pull their weight. There is a sort of unwritten rule that publicly asking for promotion to recruiter/leader is frowned upon...but exceptions have been known to happen. Please refer to this guide for further details.
3. SI does not WAR.
This is more TAO-specific than the other rules. SI does not normally participate in Clan Wars for several good reasons. Friendly tournaments and competitions are different, and encouraged. There has only been a single exception to this, and it took much discussion among the leaders and it didn't even come to a satisfactory conclusion. So don't be expecting a war against other clans. For other games, please consult the relevent leaders.
4. Don't take it all too seriously.
When it comes down to it, it is just a game. Friendships built over a game shouldn't be able to be torn down easily over something that happens in a game. The bigger things in life are more important. Real life > SI > Video Games. Bear that in mind, and you'll get along fine. We are here to have fun, and a good time. So...we don't particularly care too much about rankings and stats, though we will rise to the challenge when we need to.

I know that sounds abit harsh, but hangin' out with the crew > rank whorage, and if anybody wants to hang out with the crew on GL too (Dig ma ryhmes y'all!) then you can send either of us a message and we'll try you out and send you an invite. In the mean time, don't listen to this kid, because he's SUPPOSED to of "thrown in the towel" for the 200 millionth time, so I just stopped taking him seriously :)

im just saying, there is not so much activity, and you know it. you didnt "lose" me anyhow, even if i am leading a different clan sorta. i'd prefer having those people too. if they ever played. its, like i said, i had to tell people they couldnt join, because there was no way to get to the lead account. no one wants to wait for days for a leader to get on. i told you i didnt wanna bad mouth SI, but you guys arent active, cept maybe you a little, and you know it.

this thread has a lot of drama but i didnt feel liek making another one so:

I think its time to get SI up and running on GL and i made a thread in the forums to try to get other current players to help. Big X is outta retirement and TD i think said he would come and play on GL. Of course im on for several hours a day. so, i doubt we can count on it but, im gonna do my best to get SI back to the place it deserves on GL, higher ranked but mostly just way more kickass in every way than any other clan. if anyone ever thought of joining SI on GL, now would be a great time.
