Disconnect Problems

Over the past 3 days or so I kep getting disconnected from my games. In all of these games I hadn't said one word yet and most of the time it's after the opponents first move I've noticed. Plus the fact that I don't cuss so even if i had talked,(which in each case i havnt), it shouldnt disconnect me. I wouldn't be complaining if this had happened only a few times, but it's happened quite a bit and is happeneing more and more frequently. And just so you know, it isn't the computer I'm on becuase I play at 3 locations and it's happened at each. I am not going to play a game until I can be assured that nothing is wrong because I'm scared of getting yet another loss.

Yea, I'm getting the same problem, rampant disconnects... even during the lobby and all other manner of things.

It's getting to the point where I just can't play anymore because I'm not likely to remain "ingame" longer than 3 moves before the game lags out or whatever. I'm not sure what's causing this problem, but it's huge.

It also gives me a problem (especially at night i find), where I attempt to login but it just Please Wait...s for a minute or two and then eventually returns a "server full" message... which is largely crap because it's midnight and the server's never full then.

I'm not sure what the problem is, though i suppose it could be my isp. I'm on a university line though, so I dont want to blame it on that yet. Besides, it appears that this problem is beyond solely me anyways.

Actually, it seemed to happen with all three (though i admit insufficient testing). It's just that all night i've been able to get on for a moment, maybe say one line or two, and tehn everything freezes, messages stop appearing when I try to send them, and buttons depress but dont work. After a minute of this, i get disconnected and reappear at the login screen. This would lead me to believe it's my isp... but dammit, why?

It's been going on for at least a week now, and it's odd that it should be happening, since regular net activity is unhindered... It's also not localized to my computer, as my friends have tried to connect with similar results.

However, when i'm in the game (for the minute or two that I get before freezing), I see people there playing... it seems to work for SOME people... Everything points to ISP... but how I guess?

I suppose i should go pester my bloody inet people... grrr, i pay through the nose for college (stanford) and all i get is crappy internet ;)

Yea... so, more testing is finding it happening simultaneously to lots of people at once... with a dimished server capacity too, since the server reads full every so often... with only a few people in it at a time...

Other noticed symptoms:
-Game accepts an order only once every few seconds, whether changing square placed in (moving around) or sending messages
-simultaneous disconnects of several people (reconnecting = "did anyone else just drop now?" "yea" "yea" "yea")
-Server Full message, upon reconnect, only about 20-30 people MAX in the server (this at 1:48 AM PST)...

Odd... I haven't had any problems... I play on Great Lakes at about 7:00 EST, if that helps...

Apparently i was mildly in the middle of a campuswide internet problem... shouldnt have had the effect it did... so we'll see

well i dont have dsl i have 56k still lol. but its fast and it wasnt lagging. i know becuse he and i'd be typing just fine. also i know it wasnt becuase of an internet disconection becuase it takes a while to sign back on unlike a dsl slip... whats even more odd is that I keep playing on my grey acount a lot..(to worried to play on gold) and i have not been dissed yet. not once

Wow, this is quite the Azn_GuY domination here on the thread. For me, no problems disconnecting due to server problems. However, my internet was fucking up last night/early morning and I disconnected two good games. Though, i admit, this probably has no relevance to the problem, just pointing it out. lol :p

i've also been disconnected in the middle of like five games, in most of which i didn't talk at all, while in the others i didn't curse.
in some of the cases, the program wouldn't let me type answers to questions people asked me.

I was disconnected during 3 days yesterday on Great Lakes, although I only got a loss for 2 of them. The other one happened right after starting the game, before the first move.

Gold Accounts will not be disconnected after each battle, giving you an advantage when the servers are full.
I've been disconnected in the lobby. I've been disconnected in settings! I've been disconnected in the Arena.
Half of my 8 losses are from disconnects.

Then get a better ISP. You will find that you will no longer get disconnected.

I play on banff, been disconnected in the middle of the game twice in a row...when I try to log on it tells me connection refused for about 3 attempts then lets me back on. Unfortunately it has given me the loss in both games (of which I was winning). VERY IRRITATING!

welcome to the wonderful world of the internet my friends, get used to it, unless u play on the box Tactics is run on u will ALWAYS be subject to a random disconnect here or there, and if ur ISP is bad then it will happen more often, believe, i've got a friend who has to log onto AIM no less than 20 times per night sometimes because her cable keeps dying on her, and even a minor hiccup of 2 seconds can sometimes lag u enough to disconnect, so... there really isnt much Seed or DR or anyone can do about this
