I'm very sorry that I didn't take a screenshot but, just a few minutes ago, I was I.P. banned. what happened? if any moderators/admins see this thread, could you please explain this to me? I wasn't even able to look at anything. Just the words somthing like, The admoinistrator has I.P. banned to click here to contact them. I'm not sure what happened but I hope it doesn't happen again.

You weren't IP banned, silly. Your IP probably just got changed or alternated or whatever they call it. It probably won't happen again.

Which is why they shouldn't ban dynamic IPs.

You use an IP that many other people on the internet can randomly get at one point in time. Your IP changes ever time your router/modem resets. This means that you end up getting on an IP eventually that was banned by the admin. He banned someone that was using that IP at the time. It wasn't you, but your IP pool.

Simply release and renew your IP. For instructions, googlify your internet provider with the term "renew IP" and follow whatever crackhead instructions you find.

lol. go to start, hit "run" type in "cmd" then type in "ipconfig /release" then hit enter, wait for the response, then type "ipconfig /renew" then hit enter, and wait for the response. at no time should you actually type quotation marks.
this is for future reference, obviously.as his problem has already been solved.

That does not work for someone who uses a router. The you are simply releasing and renewing your local Ip that is assigned your comp by the router, not the actual IP of your internet conenction.

In the game? Or forums? Forums = Mods = bored. Ingame wouldnt happen, because no admins ever visit the servers.

if they're into their stuff enough to have a router they should know how to do it themselves anyway.
forums merdoc-game doesn't give you a message when you're IP banned other then connection refused

Actually, very few people who have routers understand what they do. Most simply have them in their house so multiple peopel can use the same internet. Especially here at TAO where a large portion of users are kids or younger non-technos, it is very common to not understand how a router changes your computers IP.
For instance you just gave a surefire way to change an IP that simpyl won;t work if someone has a router. So if someone tried to follow your advice, but happened to have a router, it would not work.

well pooey for them.i don't have a router.my solution was for the common moron like me. i might be getting one soon though, since the extra modem is going to cost a ridiculous amount of money per month

I <3 using proxies.
with FF 2.0 its pretty simple to do. Go Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Connection. Select a proxy from proxy.org, then "auto connect".

With any browser it is pretty easy to do. For that matter, with any application ever.
