I think they should put in a monk unit. I guess the stats would be
HP: 45
Armor: 8
Power: 26
Movement: 5
Wait: 3 turns
Block: 80% (40% from side)
The idea would be a mobile power house with low armor the armor might need to be tweeked a bit though. It would look similar to an archer since it would be a human wearing a martial arts uniform.

Nice idea, but I think the attack should be lowered just abit. Also, I always pictured a monk in like a brown robe. Plus, what would the monks attack be?, I picture it as some religious type thingie-mabober.

a unit that has less health than the knight, less damage, no armor, no block, the same wait time AND a chance to run away when attacked. wow. One hit from many units kill it.

Usually there's not that many underpowered units but these are some.

the peasant was meant as a joke, making fun of how farfetched some of these posts are with their special abilities the monk isn't underpowered.

The unit is too unblanced.
With high blocking and fast movement, it can move quick enough so that units, at best, hit it in the sides. If it's being chased by a knight, it won't be hit at all.
Next off, its power is tremendous, making life hell even for knights.
Remember, 4 spaces means that the unit can be face to face with another unit, and still be capable of hitting it in the back.
5 spaces means that they don't have to be face to face, and this punk can still automatically hit (by reaching the back) with 26 from a huge distance away.
So it has more HP and blocking than an Assassin, it has more Damage than a DMW, and its recovery time is still the exact same as a basic DMW or Pyromancer.

Now think about this conceptually. Monks use their fists. Most RPGs have them as powerhouses, but even in the well established RPGs, the powerful monks are usually overpowered (IE: DnD, where the Monk is so powerful, it hurts the opponent just to play in the same game as one)
Also, monks don't wear armor to move quickly.
I suggest lowering the recovery to 1-2. Lowering the damage significantly, keeping the speed, and getting rid of all damage reduction.
It's not a balance issue, but rather a characteristic issue, because this unit just doesn't make sense.

I forgot to add it has the same attack range as a knight. And you've never seen an RPG where monks are the best class?

Yes.
In DnD, they're so good, it hurts.... and angers me. They're so extremely versatile and godly that it becomes total bull after a couple of levels.
In FF:TA, White Monks are easily my favorite class, because they're so versatile.
As a general rule in the fantasy genre, Monks are effective to the point where they're overpowered, something which comes from the fact that they use a lot of eastern traditions/powers in a very western fantasy setting, so it's like DBZ characters walking amongst LOTR characters. (Goku breaks planets... the guys from LOTR have trouble cutting through armor)

But if you take the real European Monks out of history, they aren't combat trained at all. They were strong, absolutely, they were fit, absolutely, but there was no way they could punch as hard as a fireball explodes or as a sword slashes.
Their hardiness was a product of their abstinence.
But that physical fitness means:
1) The ability to run fast.
2) Maybe the ability to recover.
3) The ability to move well, so a high blocking kind of works.
But there's no way it would translate into damage, no punch, no matter how strong, compares to a slash of a knife (assassin, Power of 18)
And, there shouldn't be any armor because medieval monks didn't wear any.
