help im getting a connection refused error

please help when i try to log in i get the error saying "connectin refused" if you know how to stop this and help me start playing again i just bought a gold and that would suck if i couldnt play

it's a common virus :( you have to do a system recovery on your computer, restart it from scratch, then you can play TAO again.

If you were trying to cyber on the Great Lakes server, as a dozen other people were trying to do over the last hour or so, you won't be getting in for awhile. Cry to your fake girlfriends, folks. :)

If you're not, try logging in on another name. If that fails, check your internet connectivity.

If you do what zander said, you're just wasting your time.

If you were banned you have to cancel your account.
Otherwise, you need to renew your IP.

Or, if you're like me and a few others, you can't play from a certain user account (assuming you're on an XP). Make a new one and all should be well.

i sound like a noob but some guy told me to have a typing contest with me he started pushing one letter then enter so stupidly i did then it logged me out and then i started getting the error

Sounds like you might have tripped the spam filter. (We still have those, right?)

If you did, I'm pretty sure you will only need to wait a few hours before you can log in again.

In other words, the spam filter kicked you, I'm not sure how long the ban is for that but yeah you're not getting on anytime soon ;)
