War Of Revelations: Vets vs Noobs

Punishment had a great idea called, "Tournament of Ages" and no one took the initiative to start it, so I decided I will do my best. This tournament is my first, but by these rules the tournament should pretty much run itself. I just need to keep track of wins. Also Pun if you want any part of this your more than welcome, but I changed it quite a bit, so thats why I changed the name. This is all in fun, and I figured it would be a good way to end the year.


The Epic battle to see who holds sway over Revelations.

I will go by your word on when you joined. I'm pretty sure if you call yourself a vet and aren't, the vets will get on you.

Vets: 03 - 05 ( 6/1/05)

Noobs: 05- 06

*05's up to 6/30/05 have a choice of what side they want to be on, since there are so many noobs.

*Any problems with the rules before the war starts please say so. Once the war start the rules won't change.

Rules:
This war will only be fought on the Battle grounds of Rev, and each warrior only has two lifes. So you lose twice, your dead, and no longer part of the war. You also need to have become gold one time in your life.

You can join the war at anytime, but once you die you are forever out of the war. The war will begin tonight, so keep looking at this post for updates.

Each battle is fought in Freestyle, but players can agree on a different style.

I won't choose your partner to fight, you see a noob or vet, it's up to you to challenge him and post a screenie of your victory. If your apart of the war you cannot decline the challenge or accept defeat Since I'm adding another life, you cannot challenge the same person two times in a row. This is not a tourny, there are no brackets, it's a war.

Record will be held to see how many kills you have, so let the stories of legends begin.


The war ends 1/1/2007 and the victors shall be chosen by kills, and whose left standing. If you have no kills at the end of the war, you will not be counted part of the war, unless you died serving your side. Your kills won't count if you're dead.

Oh an I well accept any help in keeping track of the wins, and losses.
Also this is only sign up, fights don't count yet.

There will also be a clan for each side on rev when the war starts.

Well, since TAO was November 2003-2006, you have two full years of "noobs", but only a touch over a year of "vets".

Plus, most of the 2003-2004 vets left, but you've got a lot of active 2006 players, and a lot more 2005 over 2004 as well. Kinda expected that the noobs outweigh the vets. :)

I would but then we would have to worry about timezones and everyone getting there game in. I rather it be you see and opponent you kill. Also, it will be cool to see which players stand out, and gives a chance for people to gain glory in battle.

I like that idea tian. It will allow for a more epic war. Once the rosters reach 20/20 i believe i will start this with a setup to keep track of who is dead and who is still alive.

*shakes head* Ok, fair enough, numbers would over-power skill when in armed combat, yes this is true, but it would have to be a large ratio. However, I would disagree generally though. It's not how many men you have, its how well you use the resources you have that makes you a great general, a great warrior, etc.

Looking back on the great battles in history, the Romans were notorious for winning battles when they were outnumbered 5 to 1 and more. Legend also claims that 300 Greeks laid waste to 1million Persians (I got that one off one of those war-style games on the telly). Attila the Hun would often win battles through well thought out strategy. Think about that for a moment. Willingness to fight? Argueable. Numbers over skill? Only if the odds are overly stacked against you.

300 Spartans fought off a large number of Persians in something like a mountain pass, easily defensible, just long enough to allow the rest of the Greek armies to regroup and prepare. Although finally, the Persian commander went "fsck it!" and zerg rushed the 300 and killed them all.

They're making a movie out of it soon. :cool:

2 lives does sound interesting, an I'm willing to change it, but it will give the vets more of an advantage. I believe anyways.

Cause taking down tian, allstar, and bobcat alone is going to take a strike of luck, and we noobs need that lady luck.

But then 2 lives doesn't end it so fast. I'm probally going to make it 2, that way people can stay in the war just a little longer. Plus Lady Luck can strike twice.

Okay I like the idea of 2 lives, so I implemented it, tonight I'll make a new thread with the official rules around 7:00 pst. This way it's a new thread and officially annoucing the war has started. The rules I have up there right now are the official ones so far, if any side has any problems with these rules please say so before the war starts, cause once it starts they won't be changed.

When the war starts, you can still join.

I would but that would take too long, and Tian put it best, saying in war there is reinforcements and I don't feel anyone should be left out of the war. Plus we have a lot of ppl already, and they need time to battle each other before the month is over.

There not reading my first post... I'm not matching ppl up, just signing them up. There are no matchups, you see a vet or a noob you challenge him. They deny your challenge they accept defeat, aslong as you have proof of them not accepting your challenge.
