I started this thread at legends, but right now some noob hacker is spamming it up with porn threads on legends, and there is no mod to be seen, so i'm here until Omegashin comes on.

Anyways here's my Default Wins

Legends Wins

In this first game the other player pretty much was a horrible player, despite having a forst, mud, and cleric drop he couldn't pull off a win, but he still did play better than many others I played.

In this game, the game practically just started, I have no idea why he surrendered, but a win nontheless ^_^

In this game the main reason I won was because at the start of the match I got 2-3 easy units due to him underestimating me. He was a pretty decent skilled player, pretty fun game.

By far my best game, played vrs a double gold rusher. In the first 3 turns I lost all 3 of my knights, yet due to great tactics, pulled off a win. His dsm was one hit from death from my scout,and had 2 wait, my scout had full health, and one wait

These next three wins were all against the same person who thought I was a noob, and underestimated me, I won all 3 obviously, and two of them were flawlesses.

This one was skilled, but seemed to talk alot of crap. He had it stuck in his mind that golds were to powerful for greys to beat, which we all know is not true ^_^

This one had drops to help him, but no skill to back up his drops, quite easy even with the drops, but had a good attitude.

Another one where underestimation took it's tool, he still could have done something, but surrendered anyways.

This one did a solo unit rush with his assassin, cost him his assassin, and cost me alittle hp, still could have won, but another one that surrendered early in the game.

This one had luck beyond words, but luck isn't the only thing that wins games, after about 5-6 turns of begging me for a draw, he just decided to surrender.

Another half-way decent player, If his pyro blocked my next scout shot, he would have had a chance at victory, but he decided to just surrender.(His pyro had - blocking as it was so it probably would't have blocked.)

This one I had fun playing, he was one of the few dropless that took me down to such few units. He could have easily won if at the end instead of continually attacking, he should have retreated his two knights, and cleric to the lw. He could have drained my two knights over a period of time, and won.

FPS Wins

Only one for now, I will add more later

This one was pretty funny, if any skilled player played me with his set, I would have been dominated, the main reason for this win is because he changed his target to much, When my dmw had low health he would attack my pyro O.o

I love the grey default set and have been doing a fair bit of pwning with it myself lately. I have nabbed plenty of golds. I like what you are doing. However, maybe leave the Legends stuff out. No-one here really cares about Legends, and most either hate it or believe it doesn't exist. :p

I can't play with the default set...so defensive. It gives your opponent too much time to prepare before you can if you want to attack.

Nonsense...default owns. Give it a try man, you can flank them easily and pull back you weaker units depending on what side your opponent is on. It takes a bit of a build up, but it makes you a better player. Thats my opinion anyway

I don't know...I have tried it and yes it's alright. But for me at least, a more aggressive set that can be played defesively is the best...

That was my original intentions in doing this, to get my rusty skills back.

I havn't played seriously or for stats since january last year.

Definantly agree here... although I'm not quite good enough to pwn with the default yet, I'm working my way up there... I curently have a formation which is basically the default, only a few turns later (in other words more easier to use) so that I can get a jump start on my opponent and get my knights in there fast...

And I am going to have to say that since using it, my game play has gone up considerably :)

Scout hits on cleric quite easily.

Chanty is unprotected.

If you have a turtle on opp. side of your scout, you're pretty much screwed. Scout position is not good.

Poor protection of witches and pyros.

GOOD PARTS OF THE DEFAULT
It DOES protect against flanking well.

It can organize attack battalions quite well.

It preserves knights.

It does have the most attacking units, and it doesn't really need a LW. I always laugh at people who try to keep the defualt set, but take out the pyros and replace them with wards. It doesn't really need them / can use them.

All in all, its OK. The bountiful attacking units make it good for new greys, but once you start playing with the big boys, its just too spread out, lacks universal knight protection, and has a weak cleric defense.

No, it's good :/

1. You don't need a cleric honestly...
2. Just move the chanty behind the wall of knights, takes 1 turn
3. I don't send in the scout first anyways, if you do... then you're prolly doing somthing wrong...
4. If they're close enough to be attacking your Pyros, chances are you did somthing wrong... :p

Listen guys, it's simple! Rush with knights, follow with range behind it to hit things like chanty/frost/BWs... pull out once they only have knights n' stuff like that left... just out range them and chanty up! :)

I have beaten plenty of 1300+ and 1400+ golds with a form almost identical to the default and Powza here HAS beaten 1300 and 1400+ golds, so don't say it's not a good set... I wil agree though that a lot of it has to deal with skill :cool: but still... the form is good :p

I think what DD is trying to say is that any experienced grey could beat the default set with a good turt. He's not saying the default is bad or nething, he's just pointing out it's flaws.

Actually I think a BW would go with default nicely, that way you could send your scout out farther with less risk of it being killed at the start of the match.

In my opinion if you're using default vrs a medium-elite player you practically have to know how to use a chanty good or you will have a hard time winning.
