Tourney Idea

Ok, i have been thinking about this for a while and have come up with a good tournament idea. Ofcourse it is dropless grey.

My idea is that clans (GOOD ONES) Pick there top 3 grey players to take on other clans. I am thinking of selecting the clans. My ideas would be SI, NJ, AK, AL, HA and one other to make 6. So yeah each clan picks their best 3 greys to play and try to uphold the name of The Clan with the best greys.

Example. Team Si has chosen Inuyasha, Koala and Soda to play for them. Inuyasha has been chosen as team captain. They will select their playing order next.

Eg. Inuyasha
Koala
Soda.

Team NJ picks Bottle, Allstar and Twelve. Bottle is named captain

Eg. Bottle
Allstar
Twelve.

They now play each other not as a tag team but as 3 elimnation matches.

Eg. Inuyasha vs Bottle- Inu wins by 7 units. s/s provided.
Koala vs Allstar- Koala Wins by 3 units. s/s provided.
Soda vs Twelve- 1st Match is drawn, Rematch Soda loses to twelve by 4
units.

Team SI has won their first round clash against NJ. And therefore advances to the next round.

I think this could be a good tournement and with the reply I get back from the community i will decide whether to hold it or not. If i do i will be looking for some-one to help me out aswell.

Thoughts and comments?

Oh and the Prize: Major bragging rights.

Sounds almost exactly the same as the SI Country tourney but with clans instead. I would be keen to participate and Im sure I could get some good greys from AK to participate too. Have you considered maybe making it 5 people or even more?

I do not know if i would be particpating or not for SI, depends if i made the team. I will find a programme to make the brackets. Its for the whole of tao. Judgement could even enter a team if they wished. But all games will be played dropless grey.

My suggestion is either 5 players from each clan, best 2 outta 3, or 3 players from each clan and you play every person from the other clan (so total of 9 games per round, 3 per player). This should take SOME moaning and griping about luck away. Maybe even enforce the rule to alternate first turns until the last match, keeping in mind if you get first turn because opp passes, you can't move certain units.

I would gladly represent AK in this, since I'm probably not cut out to represent Gold Jumpers...... And endorse the idea that our clan should participate. I know Darknub's getting pretty on edge while waiting for a war, if he's honed in on his grey skills any I'll let him in on my trio. :)

However--might I suggest you have two "wild card" seeds that might be added into the mix? Running a 6-clan tourney would be kinda, well... Basically you'd have two-round bracketing in which the only round after the first would be round robin...

You could have AK, AL, HA, SI, NJ, GJ (which, although not exactly high-ranked, is an elite grey clan), TDP and X~F. That would be 3 GL-based clans, 2 Army-based clans and 2 Banff-based clans (SI and NJ have a presence on all servers but are both decidedly focused on Banff), and a clan that gets around (:wink2:.). It also allows for 8 seeds, instead of 6, and a more well-rounded grey representation.

Seriously, the way Bottle plays his grey, it's tough to score a win at best. Although "respectable" results (6unit loss, say) are ordinary against Bottle. It's called not playing for a flawless, but playing for a win. :)

Geoff... The only reason I haven't posted a team is because the four people I have in mind have all been away (Darkness and Cliche haven't been on at the same time, 57 has been on and off for the last week or so and I don't know how to contact Triforce). It would be one thing if I could get any two of these people to talk to me to get in on this, but I haven't been in contact with any of the four since I saw this thread. :(

If it weren't for Gold Jumpers I'd have begged powza to join my trio by now, and a third wouldn't be hard to find, but without powza/Soda and Gold Jumpers there just wouldn't be anybody else worth fighting in this, so it's just as well. :p
I offer the rest of you the opportunity to prove me wrong in the tourney, aye?

I have, but I'm not sure how good his grey game is after such a long period of inactivity. I know my grey game was terrible when I came back.

I'm also not sure about Darkness' grey abilities anymore, but I know Cliche could own this tournament. Gonna have to see what it comes down to.

As for 57, I know why he's been inactive, I saw both threads, but I still have to talk to him to see how long it'll be before he's active again.

Teams must be finalised by the end of Sunday. I will than most likely on Monday make the thread and decide who is playing who by drawing bits of paper out of a hat. People don't like it do not particpate. The games WILL NOT be random. You will be playing in your order. NO order changes will be aloud during this tournement.
