They have invisible mode that hides when the last time he logged on was? By the way, I know he has not been online in the game modding at least (Maybe been on a secret account) for a very long time. He was doing a good job when he was active though.

I was talking about invisible mode in the game. Plus has been gone for a long time. I don't know why, but any reason won't get rid of the fact that he's been gone.

Plus was made a mod because, at the time, he was active in game, a responsible person, and pretty cool to boot.

A short time after his appointing however, he disappeared completely (or at least it seems that way). He hasn't posted, hasn't been on the game. So far as I can tell, no one has any idea where he went.

He hasn't been demodded because there's no sense in doing that. People have disappeared for longer than this and still kept their mod accounts, it's just how it works. Having his name remain purple has not harmed anyone.

When (if) he comes back, I have no doubt that he will take back up his modly duties quite happily.

Sangro...the mods don't need to let the admins, you, or anyone for that matter, know of their whereabouts. They are not paid officials who're at your beck and call. They can largely come and go as they please, and as long as there is active moderation and no showable damage from their absence, it doesn't really matter at all how much they're on or if they dissapear for months at a time.

How do you know what arrangements he made?
He could have told anybody anything about it to make them aware.
I don't remember Bills ever feeling the need to inform us of his personal life, or ask our permission for mod decisions.

As stated in a thread that kegsworth linked, he has mentioned in the past that he'd be going away for a while.
But any arrangements are between him and the admins, it has nothing to do with us, and he doesn't owe you an explaination.
You don't own him so why do you need to track his movements?

Also, why demote a person that has proven themselves to be a good mod?
Just because they're not here now doesn't diminish the skill they have when they are here.
The only reason for a mod demotion would be poor performance, and that is not the case.
When he comes back, he will remain a valuable member of the team.
I think the more mods, the better.

Regardless, this is Bills House.
He runs his business.
It makes or loses his money on his choices.
So he is the one who decides who the admins and mods are, and it's not for people without an investment to worry about.

+- wasn't even a mod back in '04, he left, returned, was modded, and presumably left again more recently. Beyond that which is easily deducible, it's not anyone's concern, save perhaps the other mods (who would discuss it privately if they felt the need to do so).

Plusminus, from what I understand, was unsure he wanted the duties of modship after he was asked by the administration. He told me at the time he wasn't really sure he'd be on enough to be modding much. Obviously the admins knew this when he was appointed and decided to make him a mod anyways. When he is on, he's a good mod. No complaints from me.

However, in the end it has been established that it doesn't matter, we can ask all we want and we might not get an answer, and that mods will almost always hold their "job" unless they resign. Look at The Burning, she left for a long time and was never demodded. Does she moderate much? Well lately more than ever, sure. We asked the same questions about her situation though.

I think the big difference is, the mods that came and left without being demodded were here a bit to act as moderators first. Plusminus served for.... meh 6 days? then was nowhere to be found.
